With Angel Di Maria currently jetting to Manchester to tie up a record $100 million deal with United, the Red Devils plan on flying in a few more players to wrap up transfer deals before the Sept. 2 deadline.

According to a report from the Daily Telegraph, Dutchmen Nigel de Jong and Daley Blind — both of whom played for new United boss Louis van Gaal at the World Cup this summer — are set to join Di Maria and bolster United’s squad.

Apparently we're attempting to lock up Vidal but LvG is pretty worried about his fitness after his surgery and we're working on a complex appearance based contract.

Sounds sketchy and unlikely. Who can we get besides him?

So DM and Vidal? That's got to be $150 million for two players....

Manchester United are set to sign Angel di Maria today after agreeing a fee with Real Madrid, and there is quite a bit of speculation this morning about who may follow the Argentine to Old Trafford. The Independent writes that Arturo Vidal of Juventus is their top midfield target in a possible £34million deal, although it is reported that the club’s concerns about his fitness are so great that it may require a complex, appearance-based contract.

Nigel De Jong has been mentioned as the poor man's option.

I'm 100% for signing De Jong.

I agree. Bottom line is we need someone in midfield who can break up opposition passing and distribute to our playmakers to start our attacks. I think everyone would want Vidal first, but De Jong would fill this role well too.

Yep, and Vidal can definitely fill that role but he was a box to box guy for Juve most of the times I watched them play. He would always join the attack and was scoring a decent amount of goals if I remember correctly.

Vidal would give us more than de Jong as he is the more complete midfielder. I have to think Vidal is a long shot given the circumstances. But you can't help as a fan holding out some hope. How does this look as a potential lineup?
