To be fair ETH didn’t have a chance at Leverkusen, they sold 8/11 of their starters this summer and just told him to make due
I’m sure his stubborness caused a lot of friction and they just said screw it we’re not working with this guy.

Looks like Rashford may be getting binned by Barcelona already. I don't even know what to say about these players anymore.

Onana's loan to Trabzonspor in Turkey is official.

The fact that Onana tried for a new contract this summer is hilarious.
I remember the post Schmeichel years with Howard, Bosnich, and Barthez before Edwin joined. I thought that was bad, until Onana walked in.

Not selling Bruno this summer and revamping the midfield sealed Amorims fate.
Posted on 9/14/25 at 12:48 pm to Broyota2
Maybe. I hope he gets another summer because this squad just isn't good enough. Shaw, Amad, Ugarte, Dorgu, and even Mazraoui are squad depth players at best for a club of United's stature.

Yup he should have sold Bruno. Big mistake

One thing that Amorim cannot continue to do is play Bruno in the double pivot. Move him to the left 10, false 9, or switch it up and make the 2 10s the front line and have him in a more traditional 10 role.
He has to do something to salvage the trajectory of this season. We need too many pieces to play the chess he wants to so he is going to have to get creative. I'm patient enough to want to stick with him but I feel like I'm in an ever shrinking minority with how stubborn he is.

Go watch his presser after the game he said it worked against Arsenal so he knows it will work, but does he not remember us losing that game?
Bruno is not a #8 and it seems like everyone sees it but himself.
He has to start picking up points somehow. He won’t start our 70 million striker, I don’t care if he’s not match fit. Neither was Gyokeres or De Lap and Arsenal/Chelsea threw them in right away. His team selections are baffling.

I heard his presser after that post.
Oh well. I'm here for the suffering.

Might be a way to allow Amorim to leave gracefully after all.
GOAL reporting that Benfica presidential candidate Joao Noronha Lopes was in attendance at the Etihad yesterday and has openly spoken about bringing Amorim back to Lisbon if he is elected.
He took in the match with VP candidate Nuno Gomes (a close friend of Amorim) and general director Pedro Ferreira.
Given we don't have the personnel to run the 3-4-3, is it time to pull the plug, either by sacking him outright or not fighting too hard to keep him if Benfica comes in for him?

I enjoyed this and figured I would share. I really hope things come together for Amorim because we need the stability and he is obviously working out good patterns for these players to succeed with.

Good video comparing Amorim's 3-4-3 to Tuchel's and the major deficiencies in the United system.
Summaries (from comments)
quote:
"There really is no such thing as a bad formation, just a formation that is ill suited to a specific set of players."
quote:
Tuchel was a problem solver. He didn't come to Chelsea to play 3-4-3 he came to win and play well. With the players he had 3-4-3 was the best option to execute his vision. Amorim came to Man United to play a 3-4-3

Mourinho has been hired at Benfica, so it appears that door is shut.

Bayindir
Maz-de Ligt-Maguire
Dorgu-Casemiro-Bruno-Shaw
Mbuemo-Amad
Sesko
Looks like we are planning to overload the right side against Chelsea.

Chelsea down to 10 men four minutes in...gotta pummel them now.

Welp, so much for that advantage.

Happy to be up 2 but damn, this team just isn't that good.
Amad might be more wasteful than Garnacho was. Dorgu is just not good enough at this stage of his career. Casemiro is just dumb sometimes.
And for the love of God, will players make runs when Bruno has the ball in space? Having your backs to goal waiting for the ball to come to your feet in that situation is killing me.
