That Hearts match was probably his worst as a LFC player... Shelvey is going to be OK, but he really needs to watch his challenges... Lucky not to hurt Toure today... he's good for one or two a match...

Yeah I've noticed that about him, the tackles I mean. Sterling will probably be inconsistent too, some anonymous performances, etc., but you might as well go with him. I don't watch every Liverpool game but Downing seemed to just be terrified last year, like he didn't want the ball to come to him. Sterling seemed to want the ball in a big game so that's something.

Sterling is never afraid to take a man on. That by itself separates him from Downing. Downing refuses to cut inside and challenge the opposing back line.

Sterling > Downing end of story. I bet Downing didn't think a 17 year old would start over him 2 games into the season. Have fun playing in Europa, Downing..

With Downing's arrogance, that's got to drive him nuts.

I'm excited to see who we bring in over the course of the next week.

Me too. It'll give me something to look forward to during all of this storm crap.

frick it's fun to be an LFC fan again. It's coming, and it's going to come faster than we expect.
This season is going to be so much fun to watch.

Yes it is. Exciting times ahead. This squad is built with the future in mind.

Pool fans be happy that Rodgers is brave enough to start Sterling. For some strange reason Wenger just about never starts Ox. Rodgers is proving his worth by starting whoever earns it.

Oh absolutely. Unless he can make it work at left full back, he has no place at LFC.

Another Being Liverpool preview
Rodgers
Cutting the fat off the squad. Loved that he called out Raheem. We don't need a Neymar on our hands. Keep his head right and he will be a legend.

Joe Allen vs City
Such an intelligent player. Loved when he and Kelly punked that count Nasri. His pass as the 1:43 mark is what separates average players from good to great players. We never saw a pass like that last season.

What were his final passing stats? I'm glad to see he can fill in for Lucas as a DM and against City, no less... Cover for Lucas was a big concern of mine, due to having little faith in Spearing to perform at a level we need..
With Sahin being able to cover defensively, I am looking forward to seeing an Allen, Sahin, Gerrard midfield (not counting out Lucas, just excited for options)...

Glad to see a local boy make it to the first team... i'm still convinced he'll end up a CB one day... He is good as cover for Glen... Speaking of which, I think he's gonna have a big season... just so smooth going forward, he glides...

Man, I just know Isaac is going to frick up Sahin and Assaidi's LFC debut for me against Hearts on Thursday...
Also, I will not be able to get transfer news before the deadline...
Please, please, please pull a Gustav... BR can absorb it (just kidding, I wish it would head to Mexico)
