Now that the club has made Sahin official, anyone think Rodgers will play a 4 man midfield?

Pretty crazy you'll be paying upwards of £10mil all together for one year. Guess there must be some concerns about staying competitive in the near term, even if Rodgers will be given time.

It isn't my money so I'm happy with the move. He'll improve the midfield tremendously.

Still need another attacker though.

Yeah for sure. Great player. Upset we didn't get him.

SFP, i bet a chunk of that went to the player's agent, maybe even Sahin himself. That's what Balague said changed his mind.

It also offsets his wages a little bit for them.

Small? Is that purposefully sarcastic? I hope so.

The fee has dampened my excitement somewhat. But once we win the treble this year he'll undoubtedly want to stay, so I guess its not a huge deal.

I don't care about the fee. That money wasn't going to be put towards another midfielder anyway. We have cut several million in wages alone this summer.

He will help us NOW which is something we desperately need. We have a lot of pieces for future success (a system, a manager, young players, a good academy, good owners), all we need now is a bit of success to show top talent that we want to emerge into modern football.

Did you speak with Xabi Alonso before you decided to come here?

Yes, of course. A lot of times. Xabi is a person who really cares about football. He's in love with football. I'm the same, and that's why we had a lot of conversations. When I arrived at Real Madrid, we spoke about German football and Italian football. He likes football! When he heard Liverpool were interested in me, he started telling me about Liverpool. He is still in love with Liverpool Football Club, I think! It's crazy how he was telling me about Liverpool. He was saying, 'Go there, you will love it. The fans will take care of you and love you' and things like that. He said Anfield is the best stadium in the world. Xabi won a lot of trophies here, and hopefully we can do that too.

So when should I expect this guy to start scoring goals?

ETA: I mean hitting the woodwork, sorry - forgot the board was in troll mode.
