Although the graphic does show that the fullbacks will be responsible for a lot of the width

Really makes me wish we went after depth at left back. Enrique looks like a chicken with his head cut off running around panicking in the attacking 3rd.

Yes he does. His horizontal balls to Suarez down the sideline do work quite often, but he tries to use them too often. He also gets so focused on trying to beat defenders 1v1.

Borini isnt a wide player... the new guy should give us a wide option...

I agree on Enrique... as much as I loved the signing this time last year, we need a more attacking option at LB to compliment him (Armero or Pereira would be nice)

Yea I want to see Borini play central and let Suarez attack the left side like he did in the second leg against Gomel

Me too. He operates better in space and really opens up his dribbling. The center is too crowded for his skills to flourish.

Yea and I'm assuming Borini is more comfortable in the middle than out wide. I haven't see much of him so I'm just guessing.

He seems to be better in the center. He doesn't have the skills (nor pace) to beat defenders 1v1 and create space for himself. His movement is his game.

Exactly. He could part the red sea with his running alone.

Some quotes from Rodgers regarding Andy Carroll, and transfers LINK

quote:

“I need a minimum of three strikers. Once the window shuts, that is it until January.
“I have got Luis Suarez, Fabio Borini and Andy Carroll.
“I would need to be a nut case to even consider at this moment to let Andy Carroll go out, unless there are other solutions for that. At the moment there isn’t.
“Andy has been working well. He knows the situation, like the rest of the group do and we will take it from there.”
Asked about a possible loan deal, Rodgers said: “Absolutely no chance – and certainly not to Newcastle.
“Newcastle got £35m for this player last year. To even consider wanting to take him on loan is a liberty really.
“It is all speculation. I would be here all night if I was to answer questions on speculation, but we have got a very small squad as it is.
“We have lost a lot of players this summer and I hope we will be able to bring some in. I had a target list of players I wanted.
“That was always conditional because of the monies that had been paid out here.
“The club is working very hard behind the scenes to manage that process to allow us to get some players in, but in terms of depth, it’s nowhere near where I would want it to be.
“I can’t wave a magic wand to bring players in and get players out.
“There is still a wee bit of time left and hopefully come the end of August we will be ready to go on with the group that we want.”
Carroll picked up a minor injury in training this week, but Rodgers is convinced he will start against Hearts.
“We need to have a look at Andy," he added. "He is due to start but he has felt a slight twinge, so we have had it looked at and scanned. If he is available and then fit, he will start.”

I think we've got to try to make the most of it. One of the things I was most excited about Rodgers was to see if he could win with our current guys, and IMO he's got to find a way to make Andy Carroll work. He seems motivated enough to me, I say give the big man a chance.

Boys and Girls... this season is going to be a roller coaster ride... Highs and Lows... Hopefully, at the end, we will see some progress...

I am going to make it a point to temper my excitement and anger all season...

Yea yall will have some highs and lows but I think yall have a very good back 4 or at least they were one of the best in the Prem last year. You seem to have most of the front 6 settled or at least have a very good idea of what they will be like. Who knows come January Pool could dip into the transfer market again and maybe find a team that wants Carroll.

All the more reason to get him going this fall.

Me too. I will stay positive and there won't be any freak-outs from me. I know Rodgers doesn't have the squad he wants and it will take time.

It's also nice to know there is at least a place for Carroll in the squad.
