Rewatching the first half of Sunderland now. Just had an awesome sequence of passes around the 12 minute mark. 20 passes led to a Borini cross that was deflected to the goalie. Wish I knew how to take a video of it and upload it to Youtube.

Finished watching the match. Borini had his best league game by far. He was very involved, especially in the first half. His pressing almost paid off with a goal, and he had a nice shot saved.
Like most of you, my hope in him is slowly fading, but he seems to be an intelligent player. If he can play to that strength, I think he can turn into a decent player this season.
As everyone knows, our passing/movement in the final third is what the squad is missing.
I think the next 2 weeks are the most important of the season for Liverpool. We have 2 Europa league matches, Young Boys and Udinese, 2 PL matches, Manchester United and Norwich, and then a Capital One Cup match against West Brom. Then 3 days later we have another PL match against Stoke. A total of 6 matches in 18 days. We are really going to see what this team is made of.
Here is to hoping we can manage a draw against United, and then find form ahead of our next 3 PL matches: Norwich, Stoke and Reading.

I just watched the match for the first time last night... He was at his best when Luis went to the left and he was in the middle... Suarez was pulling that CB towards him...
I dont think he is a game in and game out wide forward... sure he can play there from time to time or as a sub... Like you said, he is great at pressing...
However, he's still young and I think he's going to be around for many years to come... He appears to be our new, much younger Kuyt... Every squad can use a player like that...

I know I have said this before, but I hope we don't play a lot of first teamers in these Europa matches. For me, it's just not worth it. I would not at all be upset if we didn't make it out of group. I know that is contrary to what I would have said over the summer, but we simply don't have the depth. That said, I'm looking forward to seeing some of the younger guys in action.
I would say that after the Norwich match, which is a must-win, October could very well be a great month. If we are ever going to kickstart our season, October is where it must happen.
Stoke, and Reading at Anfield. Then the derby match at Goodison. And of course there is Udinese, and Anzhi at Anfield as well. So every match we play in October will be in the city of Liverpool.

Im with you, I think we should focus on the younger players for Europa and cup games... we can reassess that strategy if we it make it to the new year in those competitions and reinforce...

Samed Yesil will apparently make his Liverpool debut against Young Boys. I'd imagine it would be off the bench.
Both Pacheco and Suso just tweeted they are in the squad for our Europa league match this week... no big surprise there...

So it will be our young boys against theirs?
Looking forward to seeing some of these guys playing a competetive match.

These stretch of games are so important. The squad needs to find form for the upcoming PL matches or it will be a very long season.

So LFC is tied with Tottenham for most shots taken in the league, yet we are 17th in goals scored.

Who cares about that stat? I'm not happy unless we're leading the coveted Most Times Hitting the Woodwork trophy! Can we make it two years in a row?

Also, read about a little ceremony for Hillsborough that United and Liverpool will do this weekend. Should be awesome.
Fergie was in the stands clapping during the Everton ceremony, so he went up one small notch in my book.
