Wasn't able to watch the game, but really like the response from this team after KK called them out after the Bolton match... Hopefully, AC will start living up to his billing, which I believe, may take the scoring burden off of Suarez and allow him to start scoring, too... (Bellers form helps, too)
A quiet window, hopefully we win a cup or two, qualify for CL and use some of that unspent $ to bring in some quality this summer..

I was just reading up on the Carling Cup. Didnt realize the winner is given a birth into Europa League.
I know everyone is hoping for that fourth Champions League spot, but it would be nice to either win the CC final or get 5th and be back in a European tournament.
People were "glad" we missed out last year, because it would give us a chance to focus on Premier League play. However, I miss playing against other European teams.

That's how Birmingham City got in this year even though they were relegated. And I'm ready for European nights again too. Obviously CL would be optimal but we may still be a year away from that.

It's not just that. We have so many more options during transfer season if we're playing European football. Players want to come to teams that are competing in European play plain and simple. We could really lower our chances with some players if we don't qualify.

The players we should be targeting in the transfer window probably aren't that intrigued by Europa competition.

I agree for the most part, but I was just talking about European competition in general. Obviously Europa is not CL, but I don't think you can discount the idea of European play, albeit lower level play, as somewhat of a factor for potential signees.
