You are fine with where you finished in the table this season? Legitimately curious. Are you blaming the finish on injuries, players, manager, or what?
I think most of us have blamed the players' finishing and injuries/suspensions for it. Although as the season progressed we realized some of it has to be on Kenny's shoulders.
IMO, Suarez out for 8 games, Lucas missing half of the season, Agger being out twice for broken ribs, and Gerrard's usual mid season injuries hurt us the most. After that, you have to say finishing. Kenny put them in the position to score, but you can't coach finishing (well not at this level at least).
After those two, the rest is on Kenny.

Plenty of rumors flying around today

Apparently, Andy has made the England squad and Johnson should be a starter with Richards and Walker being out.

Looks like Kenny is staying.
don't be shocked when we spend a ton of money, but still come up "unlucky" as Dalglish would put it......
as long as he's the manager, we won't finish any better than 5th or 6th.... i just really feel that he's out of touch with today's soccer and today's players.....
sorta like JoePa at Penn St. for the last 5 to 6 years he coached.... great coach, epic track record, lot of success, but at some point, his philosophy and style became dated and he never adapted, and the product that he was in charge of putting on the field suffered....
i'm afraid that's what has happened to Dalglish..... but we are too stupid to do anything about it, evidently...... personally, i don't think "kick the ball far down the field and try to get someone to head the ball into the net" really constitutes a gameplan..... we have one player that can be create shots for himself and/or other players.... but one is not enough.... look at the top of the table.... those guys are 4, 5 deep with guys that can create scoring opportunities, rather than just aimlessly get a foot on the ball and pray it goes in.....

If he is given money and spends on nothing but over priced Brits, I would agree with you. I dont think FSG is stupid enough to let that happen. Hopefully, we have a new DoF that helps with the transfers. That said I think he can still manage the game, we were playing some great football until that Arsenal loss.
He is just stubborn and loyal to a fault, but I believe he can overcome this (or he will be out).
AVB was the hottest managerial prospect on the planet and he fell victim to his inabaility to adjust his tactics (he's young)...just stubborn...

Great is a strong word to use, especially with how inconsistent we are at netting the ball.... someone here said the other day how many goals we actually scored in the amount of games we played and my jaw hit the floor.....
i'm not really sure what the answer is.... we have some pieces to the puzzle, but the main thing is getting them to perform at the highest level every single week..... it seems like they can come out like world beaters vs. Chelsea, Man U, Everton, etc., but if Norwich or Swansea is on the docket, it's like they don't even bother showing up.... or, it's like they haven't been actually prepared by the manager... i don't know....

of course you do.... everyone does and will.... a hundred times over.... but i'm staying the course.... i think a majority (not ALL, and not a slight margin) of our current side's problems derive from Dalglish....

I think it's a case of not having the quality player to compete, game in and game out, for a whole season. I'm not saying he's a tactical genius, but we need better players to compete. Mourinho wouldn't have finished top 4 with our squad + injuries/suspensions.

I guess I just never really equate managing and tactics with showing professional footballers playing at the highest level how to aim their shot. That shouldn't be the manager's job.

I agree with all this.

Maybe, but ultimately it's a results business and you can make excuses but this season has been unacceptable by Liverpool standards.

Absolutely. Which is why I'd say the rest of the blame (after those first two things) lays on KD.

Gerrard named England captain.
Johnson, Carroll, and Downing also on the squad.

A lot of speculation that Roberto martinez is the favorite, as of now, to replace him... I dont really know anything about him other than Wigan had a nice little run to stay in the top flight...

I'd like Martinez. The fact that he's kept Wigan Athletic, a soccer club located in a rugby town, with limited finances and resources, in the top flight for 7 years now just speaks to his ability as a manager IMO.
I think some Rafa Benitez speculation will get thrown around again though ...

I think Rafa would be a better choice than Martinez. He's not ready for a job like Liverpool IMO.

I keep hearing that his desire for total control, is a deal breaker for FSG... they want a DoF
maybe, if Rafa backs off that stance, you know he will be politicking like a MF'er for a 2nd shot...
Zonal Marking!! Yay!!
