Despite the reality of Man City’s recent form, this was a MASSIVE win! We twisted the knife when we had the chance against a side that is still extremely talented, and been a thorn in our side for nearly a decade now.

Exorcising demons and exercising control, baby! YNWA!

Liverpool's next FA cup draw is against Accrington Stanley, 19th place currently in league 2

Do we start Lucho or Nunez in the middle today ? Darwin had his coming out party at St James' last season. Also a tough call whether to start Jones or Szobo. Dom was our best player for some stretches against City. I'm really liking those two pushing each other for minutes.

If I am Slot, I am playing Macca and Szoboslai in every match that I deem critical or worthy of the starters... Jones is good, and may even fit into the midfield alongside those two, but I can't imagine a situation in a big game where I wouldn't start those two together.

Quansah at rb against Gordon could be something…

Unless I guess Gomez is playing there with Quansah in the middle

Trying to watch as much as I can while at work. Every time I flip back over to that screen Newcastle is on the attack or passing around in the final 1/3. Wasn’t able to see much at the other end of the pitch.

That was awful... he is just not a RB.. slow and offers fricking nothing going forward..

After the first half, I'd have gladly taken a draw... but what a frick up by Kelleher to let that ball go.. so frustrating!

We didn't play our best but credit to Newcastle for taking the game to us the entire first half. As bad as the defense was at times we were still in position to take all 3 points.

Macca being suspended for the derby on Saturday has me very nervous

But if we manage to get 3 points then I’d consider it a great week

I’m assuming most rational fans would gladly take 7/9 points against City, @Newcastle, and @Everton in a 6 day span

Now if we drop points against Everton I might start to get a little worried

Any win at Everton makes a week a good one. Tough arse place to play, at least for us.

We have the same roster as last season and these players lost their chance of winning the league @ Everton. We've got something for them tomorrow. I've watched a lot of their games this season. We have to keep McNeil off the ball the same way we kept Palmer off the ball when we played Chelsea. Speaking of Chelsea, I imagine we'll see how much $ they'd pay us for Nunez again this offseason. Those 2 big chances he missed at SJP were same shite, different day type of blown chances. He just doesn't show the quality needed in the big moments to be a Liverpool #9. And it's crazy because I think he has it but it's all gone to his head now.

I haven't watched any of their games. All I know is that we struggle big time in that side of town. I think we are 2-9-1 over our past 12.

Staying on the Mersey right now.
Not going to the match (Up The Toffees), but the wind is absolutely kicking right now.
60 mph and gusting.
Windows cracking in our hotel.

Match will go on, but it’ll be miserable for all.

That’s wild - some of these matches look like they’re inside of a monsoon so it must be really bad even by English standards.
