He’s more advanced than Pulisic at this age. Most impressive part of his game to me today was his composure. Kid plays like he’s 30 years old. So calm in possession and he dictated play when he got the ball, saw a lot of him pointing out passes to his teammates today. He is going to be a top 10 player in the world.

We better not squander this corps of young players with this dipshit manager.

When it comes to the very top players under 23, the US has more guys than just about any country. England and France have more guys but I’m not sure if anyone else has more.

It’s really something I didn’t know if I ever thought would happen.

However beyond the bonafide Tier 1 guys, there is a fairly wide gap. If that gap is fixed, and we get a better coach by 2026, this team could be a real contender.

Let’s talk about Gio Reyna

He’s good at soccer.

His pure 1v1 ability is almost as good as Pulisic’s at 17, but his ability to find and use space is far superior to where Pulisic was 5 years ago.

I know someone will call be a Gregg apologist or boot licker or some shite but while some of the GC decisions were fricking stupid (see: Lovitz) I will tentatively hold judgment until I see what he can do with a full contingent of Gio, Pulisic, Sargent/Jozy, Weston, Adams, Brooks, and Dest. If that ever fricking happens lol

We don’t need to play this game of comparisons though. They are different type players. Both advanced at a young age. Let’s ride.

Completely different players. I’m just saying that Gio looked like a 10 year vet, never saw that from Christian at BvB. Can’t wait for the 1,2 in Stars and Stripes

I can’t wait for his body to physically mature, and add strength. He’s a bit like a fawn out there at times with arms and legs wobbly...and he’s already really good. Will be something else when he can physically hold his own against grown men.

I get so excited watching these guys now. I can’t wait to see them all together with the national team again. If you had told me after the T&T loss that in three years we would have players at Juventus, RB Leipzig, Chelsea, Dortmund, Ajax, Bayern, and Barcelona, I would have told you to STFU and flicked you in the nuts for being a jackhole.

But he valium pauses contemplatively between sentences and furls his brow. He’s a serious manager right?

Is he 100% USA player? He locked in?

I know he had options, and on FM20, he ends up being an English player.

He’s not locked in yet

But has said this:

quoted him as saying "I'm aware of the rumors, but it's quite clear for me. I only want to play for the United States. That's my home country."

He is a true #10 which is something we've never had before and allows us to put Pulisic on the wings without worrying about losing those key passes in the middle.

No, but there is zero chance he'll play for anyone besides the USMNT.

He went for Portugal on mine didn't even give me a chance to try and ask him on my first save.

The ideal line up right now is something like

GK: Steffen
CB: Two of Long, Brooks, Miazga, Zimmerman
RB: Yedlin
LB: Dest
DM: Adams
CM: McKennie
Wings: Pulisic and someone else, I say Boyd for now but that is open
ACM: Gio
CF: Jozy

Agreed?

Amazing how Goalkeeper is one of our weaknesses

As it stands now I’d say morris for boyd. Then I’d have cannon, and maybe Robinson (assuming he plays), in for yedlin. I don’t think yedlin is going to get any minutes for newcastle this year, I’m not sure he’s even making the bench for them anymore. Perhaps yedlin makes a move to mls and stays in shape, but I’m not so sure he makes a starting 11 again.

Other than that I can’t disagree with anyone at the moment. Maybe jozy, I have no idea how he’s looked for Toronto since the new season started.

There's some talk of Yedlin joining Boyd at Besiktas, but yeah, he's our 3rd string RB at best at this point. I think Morris and Weah can fight each other for the wing position opposite of Pulisic.
