Here's an article from 2016 about the salaries in the Dutch league: LINK
Looks like their salaries have increased a little bit over the last ~3 years.

The average salary for a player in the Dutch Eredivisie went up slightly to €266,000 a year in the 2014/15 season, according to website Voetbal International.
Between 2010 and 2014, average salaries fell from €355,000 to €263,000 as a number of clubs got into financial difficulties. However, differences between the clubs are extremely wide, VI said.
PSV’s Luuk de Jong is one of the biggest earners, with an annual salary of €2.55m plus bonuses.
By contrast, a player at PEC Zwolle will earn no more than €200,000 a year, VI said. Read more at DutchNews.nl:

But if there was an MLS II, the teams who don't get better are stuck in MLS II. It forces investment from the owners and player development at the youth level.
Or the owner could essentially abandon the team after it gets relegated like Sunderland.

especially Turkey, Scotland, Switzerland...
no way do their smaller clubs help keep up such an average
the next step for MLS will be to make their big clubs bigger

Comparing the median spending #MLS team against the median teams from leagues in Europe OUTSIDE of the big 5...
(in millions per year)
Turkey - $12.9m
MLS - $9.1m (SKC)
Netherlands - $7.7m
Austria - $6m
Portugal - $4.6m
Scotland - $2.9m
Denmark - $1.9m
Belgium - $1.6m
Since SKC was used, Felipe Gutierrez was the only SKC player that made more than $900k in 2018. Felipe made $1.6m. 17 players made >$100k, 11 made <$100k (including kids like Lindsey, Kuzain, and Busio, as well as some guys that have since been released).

Midlevel talent and down really needs a wage increase if the league is going to get better. I would also be interested in seeing some of the USL wages.

Is the song sheet going around real?
If real, they should immediately fold.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, Exhibit A as to why American Soccer sucks.
This is the stupidest song to be on this list, because it singlehandedly shows that all of the songs were manufactured, and not natural.
Do you want this song to be something your fans sing during games? Maybe something they hum when down by 1 late in the second? Perfectly acceptable.
But you play it at halftime, on the PA. If you’re lucky and smart about it, the diehards will figure out they should sing it, and will then sing it. And it will feel good when the team needs to rally, and great when they do.

It’s the crest dude. It’s not like Real Madrid are “the crowns.” Don’t expect any expansion teams to adopt same lame mascot or name like “The Burn”, which Dallas abandoned.
The tree crest is great IMO. It’s simple and ties into the history of the town.

Except the song sheet distributed at the announcement includes the phrase "Vamos, El Tree!" It's literally a mentally handicapped attempt to attract some Mexican fans or some shite.

DPs skew these numbers a bit though do they not?

A little, but there's still only a max of 3 per team (some teams have fewer), and only 8 players had a salary of more than $3M.
There are currently ~58 DPs. Of those that were in MLS last year and are still in MLS (means I'm not counting Pity Martinez, Almiron, etc) 17 made fewer than $1M, 17 made between $1M-$2M, 7 made between $2M-$3M, none made between $3M-$4M. Of those 58 current DPs, 14 became DPs in 2019 so I can't find how much they are making. Only 8 players in MLS made more than $3M last year and some of them are no longer in the league.
Giovinco made the most last year at $7.116M. He left, but Zlatan just became a DP and is now making close to that number. He was not a DP last year, but still made $1.5M.

Also, the CBA expires at the end of this season, so you'll probably see the average MLS salary rise in the near future.

There are TAM players with a higher salary than many DPs.
