I’ll actually die if he goes elsewhere and we plug Harrison back in.

(I expect we’ll sign a new winger. Solomon or someone else.)

New LB search should be exciting. I wouldn’t mind if we got Moreno on a free. He was good at Villa. Schmidt should be a good squad player and we should probably re-sign Byram 1 more year for depth and the homegrown player thing.

Beren’s article in the athletic today was a good read. Basically overhauled the data department and they’re not just Orta’ing it in recruitment anymore.

Free and counts as home grown (i think). Probably a Joseph replacement as it sounds like he’s going to be joining Firpo at Betis.

Not a bad start to filling out the squad, probably going to get a couple more of these I assume that meet the profile for positions they want.

Then sink the bigger money into guys who could be impact starters at key positions with similar physical profiles, just more talented.

We could end up with a physically polar opposite squad from what we saw last year (tiny attackers)

I agree. Need to get bigger and stronger for the Premier League. Nmecha is a good start. A low risk, high reward type signing who will be a nice squad player if he pans out. Good business.

Apparently, LB bids along with several others will be going out this week as we try to get signings over the line shortly after 1 July. We are targeting at Gabriel Gudmundssen from Lille to fill the LB spot amongst others. It's looking like the Bijol deal is floundering after Udinese tentatively accepted our second bid. Other top clubs have entered the race for him. We'll see.

One more thing, New Orleans has been selected as the host for the LUA national meet-up. Not ideal but Paraag wants us to schedule it for the weekend of the 13-14 September when the 49ers are in town. Gonna be hot as frick and in the midst of hurricane season, so I'm trying to move it back. However, what Paraag wants, Paraag gets, so we may have to suck it up. We'll know more when the fixture list is released on Wednesday. Hope to see some of y'all there. MOT

Rumor mongering sites are now saying a deal for Diarra is imminent with his current club already having found a replacement, find that hard to believe after the local journalist were throwing cold water all over this last week

Would be cool if true though, and are we waiting to start the new thread until July 1st when PSR resets?

Edit: we just got here we go’ed

Getting Bijol over the line would be massive considering the reports over the weekend that the geordies amongst others were interested. Good job by Adam Underwood and staff. Building from the back is always the best approach.

Never thought I would hear/read Sam Greenwood described this way
quote:

Leicester City ‘Weighing Up Move’ for ‘Brilliant’ Attacker

These British clickbait titles are out of control

And when you read the article it’s usually because some random person described him that way like 8 years ago as a prospect.

I think the lure of European football with a more established club will be too attractive for Diarra to pass up. I hope I'm wrong because he's a talent.

Charlie Cresswell eurotrip continues. He’s joining Como in italy. Pretty sure we don’t have a sell on clause.

Beren Cross tweeted today that Leeds have a 15% sell on clause if he moves
