To my fans,

It has been an honor and privilege to have represented the US National Team in three World Cups. I was looking forward to playing in Brazil and, as you can imagine, I am very disappointed with today’s decision. Regardless, I will be cheering on my friends and teammates this summer, and I remain committed to helping grow soccer in the US in the years to come.

Thanks for all your support,
Landon

as a fan i'm sad he won't be there, but it speaks volumes about US Soccer about how far it's come that we are leaving him off.

I really like Klinsmann but if this decision backfires on him I don't foresee good things in his future

I think a lot of fans are confused by his omission because they really don't see that the US' pool has so many world class options ready to deliver what Donovan could.

Exactly.

Of our "midfielders", we have at most 3 who are better than Donovan.

Damn, this sucks to read. I thought for sure we'd have one last with the man. I'd imagine this is old LD right about now.
