We need a god damn coach
Waiting around and dicking around cost us a chance at this player.
Better hope the MLS chick doesn't become President of USMNT.

CBS reporting more of what we already know:

I've been to his house three times in the last year as the chief scout for the U.S. men's national team," Rongen, a former coach in MLS, said.

"It's a big loss, obviously. He would have liked to play for the U.S., but you know what, his dad is so Mexican, that he wanted him to represent Mexico and I knew it was a losing battle, probably."

Remember, the U.S. men's national team doesn't even have a head coach right now,

Not right now, but we need a strong leadership with a clear message and direction.

The amount of momentum this program built up from the day we beat Portugal in 2002 to the day before we lost to Trinidad & Tobago has been obliterated.
This is worse than 1998.

Damnit. I'm selling his arse on FIFA when I get home. Probably swap him for some scrub in the K league so I'll never hear from him again

If any candidate goes down to Mexico and stands outside Gonzalez’s house w/ upraised boom box, then he/she has got my (nonexistent) vote. -T

I don’t know. I was in the anger stage of grief when I posted that.
I can understand him choosing Mexico, but it doesn’t make it any less frustrating to lose a kid who grew up here and played for our youth teams. We’re the second fiddle in our own country, and it’s embarrassing. US Soccer needs to get its shite together. Mexico owns the Southwestern US. We need to increase our presence there.
I’m still optimistic for the future, but my patience is thinning after the shitshow in the last cycle. I know many of you feel the same.
