Looks like a mugshot. Anyways, I'm not that familiar with Besiktas so are they any good?

Good news. He can't wreck any of our players if he's in Turkey.

They're a big deal: usually in Europe along w/Fenerbahce and Galatasaray

They are always finishing in the top 4 and getting a Euro League spot. Every now and then they'll make a Champions League appearance.

6 month loan. Besiktas is one of the best teams in Turkey, 5th in the league thus far

Yeah, but his contract with Schalke ends with the loan so he is basically a free agent playing for Besiktas right now.

Their home crowd is ridiculous too. Great atmosphere.

Besiktas is a good side for him to join. Slaven Bilic is the coach. Hugo Almedia is the forward. Looks like Jones would join Manuel Fernandes in the central midfield. Fernandes is a great player.
They also have Atiba Hutchinson, the Canadian who used to play at PSV. ALso a ton of young Turkish players who came from Europe and Turkey who are supposed to be very talented (Kerim Frei, Gokahn Tore, Oguzhan Ozyakup, Necip Uysal, Ismail Koybasi, etc).
Basically they had some agreement with a Portuguese agency so there were all of these Portuguese players like Quaresma, Simao, Almeida, Fernandes, Bebe, and a Portuguese coach. Then, the team had some financial issues and lost their connection to the Portuguese agency, although they kept Fernandes and Almeida. Now, they are mostly getting guys on loan and buying Turkish U-21 players from Germany, England, and smaller Turkish clubs. Not a terrible idea when you don't have the cash to compete with Fenerbahce or Galatasaray.
Fenerbahce is way out in front in the league race though
Btw, the financials on the deal are this: 200,000 Euros to Schalke, 700,000 Euros in salary to Jones for the next 4 months.

exactly, he may end up in the MLS but doing the par for the course end my career thing.
Schalke has strengthened its midfield with Kevin Prince Sidney Sam will be there soon.
