the article said something like certain players skip allocation as determined by mls, ala deuce to seattle.
Maybe its a way the league saves face for cheap teams passing on good players
It's some vague rule they basically put in place for Dempsey. It pisses a lot of MLS execs off, actually. It gives the league authority to put certain big name USMNTers where a) the league wants them to go and b) where the player wants to go.

Lol, Alexi is as connected and reputable a source as there is in MLS. Just because you don't like his TV schtick doesn't mean you 'need better sources.'
it was a shot at Lalas for fricks sake

They need all the help they can get. Their back four is horrible and hopefully he can cover for them a bit.

I'd be mad if I didn't know that as long as the Hunt's own FCD they will never drop big $$$ on a single player again.

Alexi says some stupid arse shite a lot of the time.

Alexi defender here. Way cooler in person.
My fb profile picture is Alexi and I, so you know where I stand.

I really don't find that he does. I find most of what he says, at least about MLS/USMNT, to be pretty accurate.

Sooooo.... How about we discuss this move?
I think it's fantastic. Glad to see more American players coming back. JJ having family in Chicago certainly helped the deal, one has to think. I'm pretty sure his dad lives there.

Great move for Jones, Chicago, and MLS. I am intrigued by the idea of Jones and Magee playing together. This gives the Fire another dimension and could make for more exciting soccer. Magee gave them a much needed shot in the arm last season and adding Jones just makes them better.

Who is going to be in their early to mid 30's in a few years for DC United to pick up for our first season in the new ground?
You may not be getting a new ground:
quote:
Count David Catania (I-At Large) among the growing number of D.C. Council members who don’t like the high-stakes land swap at the center of the proposed $300 million D.C. United stadium deal.
quote:
City Administrator Allen Lew, who negotiated the stadium deal for Mayor Vincent C. Gray, was characteristically more blunt: “If we were try to take this apart, this entire deal would implode. That’s my view of it.”
quote:
The problem for Akridge is that while the current mayor may support the swap, it now appears two potential future mayors are deeply skeptical.

Jones will give them help on the defensive side of the ball, which Chicago desperately needs at the moment.
It's a step in the right direction, for sure.

Goal is now saying that Jones just rejected Chicago's offer, and that it was 6mil over 2.5 seasons.

Would certainly make more sense than Ronaldinho.

Well the standard has been set to over pay guys so I can see why he said no.

Has anyone seen that Jones tweeted that the rumors over terms weren't true. I know Twellman took a shot at jones on twitter over the report he turned down 6 million.

And considering he was our best player in Brazil not named Tim Howard...
