Imagine Spain without Xavi, Iniesta and puyol...
With all due respect, Spain reloads. They may not win the next WC or Euro, but they´ll be up there. For sure.

Anyway, the BS bravado aside, I think Jürgen´s still plying his way, and is playing German mind games. I think he thinks the American mentality is much more German, than we all thought it was.

The technical modicum of quality they had, when he was hitting goals in off his arse, hip and thigh, was pretty solid in comparison to ours. After all, they are European, and have always had a chip on their shoulder. Pride, isn´t enough, when lacking coherence and visión (which I unfortunately see with our side).

We´ve got to rethink this, and stop laughing at New Zealand, Australia, and similar, we´re still a ways away from this (that we´re utterly superior, based upon population alone).

They have players in the EPL as well. Big, fricking deal.

Bob ball, no. But, I truly believe his idea is to inspire a ´rally around´, and the core has to be there, in order to ´rally around´.

There´s no international side core (LCakes is still mentally important to this side), and no technical core.

There are merely, amazing isolated moments.

He´s looking to pull a USA hockey in the 1980 olympics, or get his way, and handle it all, as was his initial intention.

The Indian will fire him, or grant him his wish.

If he grants him his wish, things will get going, but they´ll take time.

The Confed Cup, as the whole world knew, was a serious anomaly.

I really hate to admit it.

I hope that our fortunes will turn and we will play terribly in friendlies but great in qualifiers.

At the end of the day, I wish that Juergen could play people in positions that they are used to playing in.

Baby Brad is very important, and I still think he´s got the makings to be world class.

If we shite the bed against Jamaica again we are in trouble. I know it's a tough environment but we need to atleast get a draw.

Really missed him out there tonight. He's the heart and soul of that disjointed midfield.

i really hope we get Omar, Besler, and Zusi out of the MLS. If you look at our best players they weren't in the MLS long.

Btw, BP&G, ten years ago I would have gone back and forth with you and cared that you are mocking me, but really, what's the point?
Lots of people who do know about soccer think that Jozy needs to take it more upon himself to make an impact in these games when he isn't getting service. That's all I'm saying. You evidently disagree. That's fine.

Right and you're just the perfect little angel with your blatant sarcasm. Get off your high horse. The entire thread disagreed with you and you came right back multiple times with your cute clever remarks.

The majority of those who know about soccer that aren't professional tweeters and bloggers know he's been screwed by a terribly inept midfield. If you watched off the ball tonight you, as well as the ESPN guy you quoted, you would have seen him making great runs into space which were ignored because our mids have the technical ability of a child. Pick your head up, look to your forward to link play. Hell he's a target man, and he's damned good at it. It shouldn't be an issue to even hit the man with an overhead through ball, if you have a decent amount of skill. Apparently we have none.

It just pains me to watch this team. Don't get me wrong, Belgium is a great team but that was almost embarrassing to watch. Glad that was a friendly, but JK has some serious work to do this next week to get us ready for the WCQ's.

Also, did Kljestan touch the ball all game? So much pregame hype on him and he was a ghost.

Good to see Stu back though. Didn't think I would ever see him again on the field for us.

Jozy just looked pissed off and whiny the latter part of the first half. Quit whining and make things happen. I mean he was so pissed he didnt even show any emotion when Cameron scored right in front of him. Grow the f up and play better dude.

They better lighten up the midfield against Germany. They will eat us alive.

Right, so what's the answer?
Their technical ability is fixed.
His style of play is variable.

I want him to be on the field for 90 minutes every time, but not if he is spending his energy making runs that our midfielders can't even see, much less deliver a ball to. Great players find a way to make an impact given circumstances out of their control. He is a great player, so he needs to find a way to make an impact.

This is a fair response to what I said. In my defense, I was defending myself, but still, I'll own the hypocrisy charge.

he had the absolute best opportunity in the world at Villareal, and he blew it.

He was under expert guidance, and mentors, and did the same, exact thing.

His talent, and valor, are there. His perseverance under adversity, has yet to be attained. If ever.

His style of play is not variable though. Unless you know of a miracle drug to shorten him by 5 inches and make muscle mass just disappear overnight. He's too big and heavy to be a playmaker. He's a traditional target man. Target men need service to be effective.

To an extent. But I just don't think this applies in this situation. His lifelong play style is too dependent on simple service, which he can't get for some reason. He will be drastically less effective if he starts trying to play as a forward pulling the strings of the attack.

And I probably got carried away. Sorry about that. I'm fine with agreeing to disagree.

He wasn't good enough for Villarreal when he played for them.

The only place that he really blew it was Hell. I believe that he blew that one via twitter and via headbutting someone.

While he had a good year this year, the Dempsey-Altidore partnership is pointless. They are too similar.

I would have used his name, had it come to mind. I don´t remember his name. Sunami, Sunali, I don´t know.

They picked him up to develop him, not to play him. They saw the raw talent he is, and coddled him. He responded poorly.

He came with a lot of risk. He certainly didn't look ready during the Canadian U20 w/Adu and Bradley though he scored a few goals. He was very raw.

He has improved immensely.
