Obviously, he was aiming for San Jose when he sailed that shot.

Question: He was ruled offside on that play, right? Mistakenly ruled offside, but offside nonetheless.

Poor guy. He got his one chance he's been waiting forever for, and just shat the bed in front of the whole world.

He wasn't officially called offside, but he would have been if he didn't completely frick up.

It's been pretty much confirmed by everyone in the stadium that the flag raised was for a goal kick, not offside.

Most people there, including players, said they thought it was for offside.

I feel bad for Wondo. He's a classy dude that got the yips at the wrong time.

He actually played quite well in his limited time during the World Cup. Wondo basically proved that Jürgen was too conservative tactically. We could have shifted Clint to the wings put Wondo up top, and used Diskerud or Green more effectively as subs.

Instead, Diskerud never saw the field because of the formation change. Wondo will be remembered for his miss. Bradley was put in a lose-lose situation.

And worst of all, Brad Davis played 45 minutes at the World Cup.

Still have yet to here a sane reason for this, let alone his inclusion into the 23.

Ah well...

His lack of speed and power didn't help his case either. The teams we played weren't great match ups for Mix. Athleticism isn't his game. That's what we lost when Jozy got hurt. We didn't have anyone capable of coming in and doing what Jozy does. And I know they don't play the same position. I'm speaking in general here. I'm afraid Mix would have gotten swallowed up by the bigger, stronger midfields/defenses from basically every team we played, except probably Portugal.

Because, Alejandro Bedoya, Brad Davis, and Graham Zusi are really fast and powerful players right?

Brad Davis is the slowest player we've used since Conor Casey.

Diskerud can play as a wide midfielder. The point of a flat 4-5-1 has little to do with width or speed. Its whole purpose is to crowd out the midfield and compensate for a lack of possessive midfielders and target forwards (Dempsey, Clint). It sacrifices talent for bodies, in essence.

Diskerud has better vision than everyone in our pool not named Michael Bradley.
