If JK takes us to the 2018 WC quarter finals, but we lose: is he fired?

any why or why not? This would show there is no progress and he should be fired, but would he?

But look at the USMNT now. We've only maintained or gone backwards in instances.

We have one of our lowest ever fifa rankings.

Failed to make it to the GC Final.

Got demolished in the Copa Semifinals.

We are still holding on to hope based on 17-21 year old players, not based on currrent 23-26 year old players, replenishing the team.

I kind of feel like this is a rollercoaster that we are repeating over and over and I don't know where we are going.

This. It's very rare for a coach to stay more than 2 cycles.

How many managers have stayed with the same team for THREE WC cycles? It rarely happens and the few that do stay that long are World Cup winning managers like Del Bosque and Loew.
