bandwagon fan.

Maybe "bandwagon" is the wrong term, but how does one simply hop on a random team's wagon? I have connections & reasons for why I like every football/basketball/baseball/etc team.....and I've been with these teams for life.

I can't simply like some random new team because they might have a player or two who I like....that player won't be with them 20 years from now. I can't choose a team due to proximity either, cause they're all a long arse ways from where I live. I can't choose based on colors, mascots, or logos cause I'm not a female.

Do any of you (even if you are a die-hard) feel a little bandwagonish? Or maybe that your fandom is slightly cheap or structured on faulty logic?

I'd really like to follow a team and call them my own, I just can't justify it yet.....

Just follow the team or players you like. Why care what other people think about such a trivial subject?

Don't listen to anyone that calls you a "bandwagon" fan just because you decide to support a good team. You'll have much more fun supporting Chelsea or Man U than Everton or Tottenham

It's not about other people, it's about myself. I feel like I need a reason or a connection in order to hop on the bandwagon to justify my bandwagon ways. I can't just follow Real Madrid simply because they are the best.

Then do not pick a team. You have no real connection with any of the teams. There is nothing wrong with being a bandwagon fan either. The soccer team I am truly attached to is the USMNT. It is the only team I have started following besides the teams I have always followed since I was a young kid.

Yeah, unless you have family roots, people are going to call you a bandwagoner or a futbol hipster. Just enjoy great futbol.

Watch the Premier League and you will eventually gravitate toward a team.

epl is better suited for newbs because its in english and the games are far more accessible

once you get into your groove you will explore what the rest of europe has to offer(and yes la liga is a great league) and the games are broadcast in english as well, just not as accessible as the EPL on tv in most cases.

Don't pick a team then start watching. Watch like a full season then pick a team if you must.

Well there is only one right way to pick a team. You have to watch a season and just wait until the last day, and whichever team you feel like watching the most is probably the team you should follow.

And when you become a Manchester United fan you will never love another team more.

Don't pick a shite team and hope they get better. The lack of a salary cap means there are no Cinderellas for the most part.

Research team histories man. That's why I am a Liverpool fan. I didn't even know who any of their players were before I started watching last year. You'd be surprised at how cool some of the traditions are of each team.

I kinda agree with this. Although, if it's a jab at United then it made me laugh a little.
Pick a team that plays attractive soccer that is fun to watch.
That's how I became a Utd fan is by watching Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo, Rooney, Beckham, Ruud, Keane, and others. They played the most appealing soccer and on Saturday and Sunday when they were on TV was the most fun I had watching the game. At the time I was the only one of my friends that watched soccer, and slowly when friends would spend the night with me on Saturday morning before college football I made them watch Man United. Most of my friends became Arsenal fans to mess with me, but still their style of play won them over to the sport also.
