Also, rugby tickets are cheaper than soccer ones.

i actually had a really good experience in Paris other than a grouchy waiter my first night there. people were super friendly pretty much everywhere else. i was pretty self-deprecating and not loud though, so maybe that helped.

Spain was definitely my favorite. I would love to go back to Sevilla. The people there were so nice. My favorite part of my two week European excursion was going to la feria de Tomares (small suburb outside Sevilla) with the family my brother is living with and another family. we just drank and ate and laughed all night in the Sevilla FC food tent. their tent had better reviews than the Real Betis tent.

I'll also take this thread for any advice from our seasoned European travelers.

Leaving Feb 6th coming home the 16th. Flying into Manchester. Catching the United game on the 8th at old Trafford vs Fulham. Heading to London. Midweek prem games that week, going to try my hardest to get tickets for Arsenal vs United at the Emirates on that Tuesday (willing to sell a body part but realize landing a ticket will be difficult and if I do i'll probably have to fake being an Arsenal supporter). The next day is Fulham vs Liverpool at Craven Cottage and I'v heard Craven Cottage is a great venue so gonna try to do that one as well.

Maybe a trip to Amsterdam later in the week, depending on what the guys I'm going with want to do. Any advice on where to stay in London? Trying to catch as many games as possible at as many different venues as possible. All advice appreciated. Will be my first time back since living there when I was very young.

as for the OP, i stayed in the Cartwright Gardens area. right inbetween King's Cross and Russell Square, so it was really easy to get anywhere in the city. my impression from visiting London is that it doesn't really matter where you stay so long as you're close to an Underground station. Oyster cards are so easy to get and use.

went to The Lamb pub, which i had no idea was of some literary historical significance, pretty much every night i was there. really good pub with good cask ale selection. ciao bella was a great italian place next door. ended up sitting next to, and chatting with, esteemed Hollywood actor Frank Birney and his wife.

i was actually pleasantly surprised with London food. had some good meals. can't remember the name, but went to a really good chinese place in Chinatown which had a three course meal at a very reasonably price if you got there before 19:00.

My main problem in Paris were the damn gypsies. One of them cursed me in the middle of the Metro for stopping her from pickpocketing a guy.

If it's in one of the bigger cities and any older than 30 years old, it's got some sort of significance.

ETA2: Everybody check out the Roma thread for Bradley's new nickname

the sketchiest situation of my entire trip was the Metro station at Gare du Nord. the gypsies outside the tourist spots were sketchy too, but i just ignored them and kept walking. pretty sure some little girl tried to pickpocket me at the Orsay musuem, but i thwarted her. she was trying to reach into the wrong pocket anyways

I had to take 6 semesters of Italian language classes, 4 semesters of Italian literature, and 2 semesters of Italian history for my degree at LSU. I can fake being Italian better than anyone.

I think Beast still has you beat when it comes to looking Italian.
