When I was there some guy, skipping his entire afternoon of classes, walked me and my girlfriend like 3 miles to Trinity College. All because of a randomly sparked conversation on the public transit bus. Everyone there was just ridiculously nice and went far out of their way to be as helpful and hospitable as possible.
Basically, about as opposite of Paris as is possible.

I almost got in a fight in Paris. Much to the chagrin of my traveling companions.

Sometimes you seem like the kind of guy whom I would enjoy hanging out with.
I´m not this way off the board, but I´ll admit, this board has affected me, and I must keep myself in check IRL.

I travelled through Europe in college and we are both married so I won't be going back to Amsterdam.
A father and son trip to a 60 Euro prostitute after smoking some purple indica is a wonderful bonding experience. You must be some kind of weirdo.

While there wouldn't be Purple Indica there, the prostitutes wouldn't cost such an exorbitant price.

Amsterdam gets a terrible rap. Just because someone is married doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. Its one of the cleaner cities i have been to. Its absolutely beautiful and safer than most other big cities on the continent. Lots of art, incredible cheese (if you like cheese), and beautiful architecture.
I never ever smoke, and I prefer to stay away from venereal diseases. Yet somehow, someway, I inexplicably had one of the best times of my life there.
There is much more to be experienced in Amsterdam, just open your eyes.

Amsterdam, to me, is no biggie, but I agree, it´s much more than the topical stuff. For sure.

It is one of the worst cities in the world who someone who likes to eat.
Also, it is still going to be cold in May (although it will be just as bad in England and Paris).

To an extent. Like I said, best cheese on Earth. Hell, one night we went to this underground cheese place in the middle of the city and bought 10 different types of cheese. Had a cheese dinner, and it was incredible.
The waffles are retarded good.

I froze my arse off in June. It was in the mid fifties. LIke you said though, London was the same except raining too.

Great cheese there, but not the best, brah.

I mean, I haven't been across the entire Earth, so you're right probably not the best.
But when you add the obvious facetiousness to it, its the best on Earth.

I´m kind of cheesed off, from another thread. Get it?
Naw, but seriously, Amsterdam is famous in the US for BS, and it´s much more than that. Much more.
ETA I religiously consumed super aged gouda in Spain, and my family looked at me like, WTF? More for me.

I was astonished at how much stuff there was to do. As I said before, the girlfriend and I prefer alcohol to weed, so we weren't so sure about putting it on the schedule. Allocated 3 days for it, but in hindsight I wish we could've given ourself more time though.
Its the best place to wonder drunkenly. Everyone was so happy. Whether they were drinking or smoking, or doing whatever else. We walked around at 11:30pm (the sun sets really late there) and I ran into a bunch of Germans who grabbed me and gave me a hug and slammed pints down in front of us. We couldn't speak a word of German, but we had the best time with those guys. They were just hanging out in front of a little restaurant at the tables outside. Really cool experience.

This is Europe, in general. England is the exception (in general).
