Hypothetical: Would SAF have won the EPL title again this year

The maximum amount of points any team in the EPL can reach this season is 86. United finished the prior two seasons on 89 points. If Sir Alex had stayed on as United manager this year, would he have won the title again? Or would competition, injuries, and an aging squad have been too much to overcome?

Additional consideration: I think he would have had some money to spend this summer. And he wouldn't have spent all that coin on Fellaini, I know that much.

He is not a United player when it comes to his style.
SAF probably could have landed us Cesc

I would never count the old man out. He would have finished in top 1-3 imo.

That's cute that you think he would play anywhere in the prem but Arsenal, especially with our right of first refusal.

with fergie time alone, you'd think that united could have come up with enough game winning/drawing goals to add enough points to move in to the top four.

Dont forget howard webb would still be on the payroll as well.

So does anyone think Giggs might have a shot to keep the job?

imo, giggs will be man utd manager in the not so distant future. I believe there are one or two managers ahead of him, though.

He has the squad qualified for Champions League, at a minimum. Also, it was good to see Giggsy lead a dominant victory against a lesser opponent.
