Torres has looked great lately. He's been blowing by everyone in the Gold Cup and his passing (especially on set pieces) has been stellar - easily could make the final 23 for the WC if he stays on form.
Beckerdreads has been providing great service as well and has done well holding up the middle of the pitch... he can muck it up and get physical ala Jermaine Jones.

I'm not sure he makes it, tbh. To steal a college basketball term, I think he'll be one of the "first four out." He was much better against Costa Rica than he was against El Salvador, which sums up his entire US career for me. Wildly, inconsistent.
Throughout the Gold Cup, I think Corona has made the strongest case for A team inclusion.

Seriously doubt it, corona doesn't bring anything unique to the table.imho.

Is he not our 2nd best CAM in the pool behind Dempsey?

I'd rather play with stu Bradley or landon in that role and stick zusi on the right

Why? When has Stu ever played as a CAM? Not to mention that Corona has been vastly superior to Stu this gold cup.

No and he hasnt even been playing there this GC

Who is then? There aren't many options.

I would like to see a decent sample of him actually playing CAM for the US before making that call. I know he's behind Deuce and Bradley. Donovan is a better option in that role. I have seen Mix play well in the GC in that role. To me Corona's best shot is making the squad as a RM.

Cakes is our second best CAM.

I would just like to say that it is fan-fricking-tastic that we are having to discuss this. In past WC cycles, we have always been discussing which bad player is the best option to fill out the roster.
Now, it's all about which good player is the best option.

This. I don't miss the Bobby Convey or Cory Gibbs pain train of the not too distant past...

Both were completely adequate players, derailed by injury. Convey was one of Reading's best players when they were in the EPL.
A better example would be having to include Robbie Findley *and* Edson Buddle in 2010.

Convey followed a very Stuesque career path.
