This is the question he needs to answer. Unless he has family in Chelsea he likely chose the team because they are in the top 4 in most years. Ergo...he's a bandwagon douche.

By HIS DEFINITION...I'm not gonna call him one. People start pulling for Chelsea for different reasons. My brother started pulling for The Blues because he liked Drogba and their kits.

Agreed. I mean when West Ham is at the top of the table in 5 years I don't want to be accused of being a bandwagon fan

Always liked/played soccer but never had access to it growing up outside of World Cups. Watched Ghana vs. Italy in the 06 World Cup and loved Essien. Found out he played for Chelsea and started following him/them as this coincided with the time in my life I was able to have my own place, get FSC, and have more access to European soccer. For the first year and a half or so I mainly just cared about Essien and actually tried to be a Liverpool fan but Chelsea grew on me and starting around 2008 I was hooked.

(To me, being a bandwagon means you hop on and off only when teams are good. I started following ManU because of a video game, yes, but it's not like if they drop to midtable I'll stop following them and start rooting for Spurs. That's being a bandwagon.)

Like I said just because you jump on a bandwagon doesn't mean you can't become a legit fan. But there is a reason 80-90% of the people on this board are Man U, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Pool, Barca, Bayern etc.. fans. We all jumped on a bandwagon at some point.

I don't care what his face looked like. He hit it well and on target. It was a couple of inches away from a perfect penalty. Terry almost hit it out for a throw in.

I also follow a team that can produce players and don't solely rely on Uncle Roman to buy their way out of the shite when their huge money signings flop

There are multiple leagues. You cheer for your high school's football team and the Chargers/Falcons/Cowboys/Jets at the same time, right?

Again, my high school team could never play the Falcons. It's two completely different levels. We are all talking about professional soccer. If you named just one MLS team and just one European team I could possibly get on board with that.

I already said I jumped on a bandwagon. We pretty much all did. I'm not claiming any moral superiority in that regard. I'm simply saying just jump on one.

Hitting the post = almost a throw in?

A lot easier to do in a country with the biggest population in western Europe and little to no competition from anyone else in their league. As strong as the German economy is and with its influx of talented foreigners it's really astonishing the Bundesliga is not much stronger than it currently is.

Then get one of those awesome/gayass "friendship" scarves or whatever with both teams on it and then get drunk and DGAF because friendlies are pointless.

Randy, quick words of advice from a fellow Chelsea poster:

No one likes us on here and I am fine with that. Just roll with the ragging. You support the pride of London (sorry Gooners) and I welcome you on here. Everyone on this board supports their team for all the "right" reasons except Chelsea fans we are just scumbag bandwagoners. Shake the haters off! I agree with your stance on not supporting more than one team in the same league. Seems odd to root for the Saints and the Falcons, or the Braves and the Phillies. Pick an epl club and support them.

I wouldn't want it any other way.

It's laughable. Especially coming from Utd fans as they have by far the biggest bandwagon following in the world. I mean they sign players (Park, Kagawa) simply to increase their following in certain parts of the world.

Cheers.
