Just got the ESPN text alert.

I haven't kept up with the Bundesliga at all this season, what's the deal here?

His contract is up and he decided not to renew. Gladbach has been rumored to be trying to sign him. Would be a huge upgrade for him. Hertha Berlin is another possible destination. Really hoping it's Gladbach

The versatile 26-year-old Germany-born defender informed the Sinsheim-based side he will not be renewing his contract which is due to run out on 30 June 2014. "We've been fighting since the summer trying to convince Fabian to stay at the club," said head coach Markus Gisdol. "However, he's opted for a transfer [to another club]."

He's choosing to leave, not being asked to.

Didn't fox get rights to the bundesliga because I want to start watching it in HD

Beginning in the 2015-2016 season, the Bundesliga will be broadcast on FS1, FS2, Fox Soccer Plus and Fox Soccer 2 Go. Hopefully some of the bigger games may end up on Fox.

Sounds like he's trying to climb the Bundesliga ladder. Good for him and the USMNT.

Is the club going to throw a fit and freeze him out of the first team for the rest of the season? That happens a lot in these situations.

Hendo or Tweezy how has Fab looked this year, when not injured? Is he playing LB or wing?

Also, BM is obviously a step up but would Hertha be a step down? On the plus side he would get to play with JAB.

Doubt it, as they are fighting to avoid relegation and not playing him would hurt the team

Tweezy has watched more Hoffenheim than me this year.

Hertha would be a significant step up but JAB hasn't played in a while, their coach kind of hates him.
