Is he the best U-20 player on the planet? I think so. Sorry I don't know how to link. But, the youtube video of him labeled "future talent" has one of the best assists I have ever seen to Raul at the 1:36 moment.

Unselfish
Great vision
Great runs
Two footed
Great finisher
Great pace
Great awareness

I don't know if I have seen a better player at his age. He is already a GREAT player and will only get better.

ETA: The Sports Nation video that pops up first is great as well. Just doesn't have the assist to Raul I mentioned.

He is 19 and a number 10 on a UCL team. 3 goals so far in the competition. That assist is just filthy.

You da man...

Best u20

Varane I think is much more proven. Paul Pogba is also very much in that talk. He definitely up there though

Are they both only 19? Are they both the best players on their respective teams? No they aren't. Pirlo and Ronaldo are the best on Juventas and RM.

Real Madrid and Juventus are quite different than Schalke. Draxler wouldn't start on Real i know that. While Varane does. I cant speak for Juventus as I don't know enough. But Pogba just lead his u20 France team to a world cup. As the "best player"

I think Draxler may actually be 20 now too but U-20ish is close enough.

Marquinhos may be the only true teenager starting for a CL contender.

Draxler does look like he may end up being the best of the young German attackers which is saying quite a lot...

Pogba does deserve a mention though. His talent is unreal even if he's becoming a bit fonder of hotdogging than he should. Juventus (like Real Madrid) has a lot more star studded roster than Shalke.

I've watched River Plate a few times since adding the Spanish TV package and they have a kid named Manuel Lanzini that looks like quite the next promising "Number 10"

How is that relevant to the original question?

Without Ozil, I don't know about that. He is so good. Better than Gotze IMO.

He is the best player that I've seen play in that tournament. He played that entire tournament on Peyton Manning mode. His presence made Geoffrey Kondogbia look like shite by comparison.

My contention is he has more responsibility and more influence on a match than any young player in the world. Pogba is great, but he doesn't control the match like Pirlo does. Draxler is Schalke's best player.

Draxler glides around the field like Zidane, it makes his talent even more fun to watch. Götze is incredibly talented but you can tell he's working hard, whereas Draxler looks like an artist.

I think we're all just being cautious until he decides to cap for England before the coronation.
