My wife played soccer in college so I’m not completely unfamiliar with the sport, but also not extremely well versed either. I was a big Wayne Rooney fan back when he was playing for Manchester United but didn’t really follow the rest of the team. Now that he’s on the tail end of his career and in MLS, I’d like to find an actual team to follow and support.

I like De Bruyne but I’d actually like to find a respectable premier league team to follow. Man U seems to be bandwagon team and Man City seems to just be buying superstars. Anyway, that’s about where I’m at. Anyone got some suggestions for a team to get into?

You want to get the full effect of English football, with all the history and pageantry that comes along with it. MK Dons is the only answer.

OP

Newcastle is a good choice. If they can ever rid themselves of their shite owner, they could be a top7 team yearly.

Great fan support, just a horrific owner.

Some people like to include the Wimbledon years as part of the Dons.

Don’t be an idiot

MK doesn’t claim that history and even says it’s a new club founded in 2004

The 50 MK fans out there don’t either

Tottenham seems more his speed. Not really followed by a lot of people but just enough good players to keep things interesting.

I would look into the best of the rest teams: Tottenham, Leceister, Wolves, and Everton.
