Rog Bennett, awesome as always.

Also, avoid the comments section, especially if you have anything sharp near you because you will invariably want to gouge your own eyes out.
ETA: Another cool video of the US players talking about what it's like to be on Stanford's campus. Apparently Timmy Chandler really likes golf carts. First time hearing him speak.

Couldn't help it. I love how much the rest of the world doesn't want to see us succeed.

I don't get it. Anything positive about US soccer (and it's obviously tongue-in-cheek here) is downvoted to hell and all the comments are about how we're going to get raped and get no points and go home crying. It's disgusting. People want to see us fail just 'cuz.

Why are you expecting anything else from YouTube comments?
That's like expecting actual substance from goal.com comments. frick, that's like expecting actual substance from goal.com articles.

No kidding.
Anyway, who are these two? Internet divas? West Coast football bloggers? Bored LA script writers? I´ve never heard of them.
How do they make money? Clicks and advertising?

Roger Bennett works for ESPN. He is currently producing the World Cup preview series for the US and writes for ESPN as well. Not sure what Michael Davies does, but they have a great soccer podcast called Men In Blazers.

The US is kind of like the Tom Cleverly of international soccer. I hate to say it, but were an easy target. Were still a young soccer nation. We arn't elite, but can punch above our weight then turn around and play like shite. We get over hyped by the media when we play well, but then have one bad game and the entire wold (mainly England and Mexican fans) try and act like we were always shite.

Wait you haven't heard of Men In Blazers before Dandy? this board (and myself) loves them.
They have a sirius show as well as a grantland podcast, not to mention one works for ESPN (Bennett) and makes a few appearances for them during matches - he also produces the Inside the US's trip to Brazil miniseries that's on right now as well as helps with 30 for 30s I think. Davies is usually more of a behind the scenes producer guy, I think most of what he does is for his own production company but I think he at least WAS working with one of the other big networks.

Michael Davies is a super successful tv producer. Pretty sure he does MIB because he enjoys it and it increases the value of his name.

It's the Reddit culture. British people can't accept that their shitty arse national team is just as shitty as our shitty arse national team. Deal with it, you crooked teeth limey frickbags.

I know you are talking about the youtube comments, but on the other hand, I love how Roger has basically ditched the English national team and adopted 'Murica.

I have no problem with Men In Blazers, not really a big fan of the show though. Glad he's an honorary merican

Why'd they use Stanford? They should have used LSU to simulate Brazil's humidity!

That thought actually went through my mind, but Stanford's campus looks beautiful. Maybe if they used UT in Austin, they'd have something closer to the humidity.
