BREAKING: LAFC is finalizing a deal to sign France all-time leading scorer Olivier Giroud, per sources.

Deal would start after EUROs & guaranteed thru 2025.

Giroud has 12g/8a in 1,851 league mins for AC Milan this year. Would be huge coup for LAFC.

Awesome get. Big name player who is still playing at a high level. Lloris will be happy.

Last summer, I had the chance to hang out with the AC Milan team at their hotel, watch their match against Juventus, then was invited to a private training at the LAFC stadium. Got pics and signings (Musah wasn’t there yet) including talking with Franco Baresi about the 94 WC. Surprisingly Chiellini was there, and thankfully I know a little Italian, so he warmed to conversation and was hilarious as I hoped.

Hernandez and Pulisic were a bit shy but got Pulisic to open up by talking trash about his childhood team Brackley Town during his short stint in England.

But Giroud was the nicest guy there, an absolute gentleman, being friendly and humbly mannered. I think he loved LA and not surprised of this landing.

A prime Giroud in this current Arsenal team would be delicious to see. Shame.

More "retirement league" shenanigans or is MLS attracting more talent?

He’s 37 so you do the math

Regardless he will torch the league with the it’s trash standard of defending

Lots of players who came after the lost their pace did fine bc they know what spaces to occupy

Suarez with bad knees is doing it right now

Fat and Sun burned Rooney did it when everyone on this board said he would suck

Ibra was just levels

The list goes on and on of these older forwards doing well

Why does age matter if they can still play at a high level in Europe?

Sounds like bitching for the sake of bitching, which is the SCH way I know, but I mean this isn't a bad thing for the league.

Giroud coming in to MLS isn't blocking some young stud from playing in the league.

SCH has some odd fixation on dissing MLS. It's really weird.

I mean I get it to an extent, it's not that fun of a league to watch, but you can miss me with the retirement league stuff when Barca and PSG were trying to keep Messi in Europe.

Giroud is a champions league squad's first choice striker and is going to be on the roster for the best team in Europe this summer. Why is it bad that that type of talent is going to MLS, regardless of age?

You alluded to his age, propping up the retirement league thing. Not to mention, you've been bashing the league for bringing in older players for years on here.

Context is your friend, friend.

You are so sensitive

Looking way to much into it

I’m out here speaking plan language and you are running with it as something else under the notion of “context”

It's hilarious that you act like you haven't done this before. You're just mad that you get called out for it. You tried to set a narrative, got stonewalled immediately and now you are feigning ignorance to save face. It's cute.

Ah, the ol' message board tried and true.

So let me ask you this, why did you bring up his age if you weren't trying to play up the retirement league trope?
