When a guy jumps for a ball in the box with his hand(s) over his head, he is just asking for a card/penalty.

I've watched the replay several times in slow mo and still can't tell if its a handball or not.
Seriously doubt the ref could either. Think the ref saw Bastian's hand up there, saw the ball hit somewhere around it maybe on it, and committed to the call.

Yeah I think that was going for his face. Maybe you could make a case for reflex protecting his face, but these guys head the ball all the time plus his hands shouldn't have been up. Not very obvious in real time. Very odd call in a game of this magnitude.

If there's that much uncertainty, I don't want it to decide a semifinal.

First half observations other than the first ten mins Germany are clearly the better side.
Pogba has been a fricking ghost
Basti has straight up bossed the midfield and Can wow, he keeps this up he will easy be Liverpool's best Mid.
The pen call fricking harsh. Replay shows Basti was not trying to hand the ball out the air but more protecting himself from Evra's elbow.
Ref has been poor, France should have a few yellows and Pogba basically tackled Basti in the box and no call. Kimmich is killing France on that right side. Ozil making great passes.
Payet just isn't getting the ball and Griez when he gets the ball has been dangerous.
