Most reports have the Canadian smoke covering the NY/NJ area at time for kickoff. Sorry, but these players (and fans) shouldn't be subjected to this - it's a legit health hazard and not a mere inconvenience.

They need to move it either to SOFI or one of the domes.

Explain what the problem is for those of us who don't keep up with current events

Wildfires in eastern Canada and the smoke from them has covered the Northeastern USA. My work colleagues in the Philly area say it’s pretty bad.

Can they not set up a couple of box fans?

So it'll seem like a typical derby match in the Argentine Premier League and La Liga.

A little environmental smoke is the least of a fan's worries in such atmospheres.

They'll probably feel comfortable and at home among such conditions.

Like LSU fans at Lambeau: air is cooler and the locals talk with a little strange accent, but they are our peers when it comes to drinking, which made us feel at home

No way to do that this late logistically.

Canada has really fricked up everything when it comes to this World Cup.

While the US and Mexico have shined and been praised by all the fans visiting from around the world, Canada has not received such praise.

They've actually been highly criticized.

The air quality for most of the Northeast is on par with India right now. Michigan & parts of Canada are even worse at over 500+ AQI.

Not good weather to be outside running unfortunately

Oh I thought you were going to say move it up. Because the excitement has worn off without any meaningful games in between.

This what they get for putting this game at an outdoor facility with the dozens of better indoor pitches.

The problem now is all the other stadiums used except Miami have already started tearing up their pitches.

Domestic leagues won't stand for that given that many top flights begin in a month.
