Anyone else notice that the European teams are kind of slow playing in the heat? Seems to me like the Western hemisphere teams definitely looked better conditioned and had an extra step on them.

Yeah, for the most part European sides have only good matches against other European sides.

They all do look a bit slow.

Except for Robben. He has been an absolute beast.

By my count, UEFA teams are 8 wins, 9 losses, and 5 draws against non-UEFA teams so far.

Yeah Robben has been fantastic and running like a madman as well.

It was a good call you made before the tournament started about the Dutch surprising by playing a lot better with lesser known Dutch league players than most expected.

Chile did play them pretty well though. A win for either of the two or draw in that match would have also been a fair result.

Big reason why they look so impressive. Definitely my European team for the rest of the tournament

I can only imagine what will happen in Qatar with possible 100 degree weather.

There are still some notable European teams left though right? France and the Netherlands most notably. Who else? Has Switzerland advanced?

Obviously Germany is still in a good spot as well.

European teams still look good to me. And let's not forget Italy would more than likely still be alive if they had gotten a fair shake today.

They have two superstars with young guys running their asses off. If Strootman was fit, they would be my pick at the moment.

RVP got rested, this is a very dangerous team. The match against Chile will be fricking awesome.

The Netherlands and France have looked pretty good. France had a super easy group, though.

Why? Because they have looked awesome and Argentina has looked like they want to be somewhere else?

Argentina hasn't looked dominating, but we're still a threat to win it all.

ETA: And Messi looks fantastic.

The dynamics change once the group stages are over in every tournament. 2008 euros the Dutch destroyed their group and Arshavin took them out in the next round.

He does and so does Neymar.
