where in this thread have I condemned Donovan and his decision?

Just yesterday, I posted that Landon needs to do what makes Landon happy.

Sorry, wasn't directed towards you, was just in general. You were the most recent post when I clicked reply so I just replied to you.

Your assumption was that everyone in this thread wants Donovan to move to Manchester United so he could progress as a player. And you proceeded to lash out about it, which you have a bad habit of btw.

Tehehe ur right this is so great lol.

Coming from the guy who bets against the US and journaled through reems of composition books about how despicable it is that the US doesn't prostrate to the queen at the London opening ceremony, I wouldn't expect you to commiserate on this one dude

There is no inherent answer to the situation. At his age, his progression is going to be minimal. He doesn't need to "push" himself. It's all mental at this point. He needs to be in a comfortable environment where he can focus on his game and get mentally prepared for the WC. If he feels like LA is the place for that, then it was the right decision.

The paragraph was aimed at people who said it was a dumb decision. The progression part wasn't aimed at any post in particular, and only the "push" part was directed toward a previous post. It was just a bridge to the point about his mental stability.

If he isn't going to progress anymore, and isn't going to be guaranteed a spot at MU, then which place gives him more mental stability? That's how the paragraph was supposed to read.

I even said there isn't a right or wrong way he should have acted. But he did act, and obviously felt LA was the place for him, so I will trust that he made the best decision for himself.

I have a fan. Nice to know.

I've bet against Liverpool too fwiw. If you can't take your irrational fan hood out of betting, then you won't win much money.

I'm also a Marlins fan and I made a killing betting against them the first half of the season

Weak. I talked to you about both topics.

But goddammit there shall be no criticism about players and coaches in sports discussion!

I'm just struggling to see how my opinion on an ancient Olympic tradition at all relates to a conversation about Landon Donovan. Or how my USMNT fanhood plays any part in this.

I'm not a Chelsea fan, do I have permission to speak about Chelsea topics? I think the NCAA should pay players, can I still talk about Brek Shea?

I would have loved to see Donovan at a top 4 club in the past, especially the most storied club in England. I don't think, and clearly he agrees, that it is still in his best interest.

As I said though, a loan is a different thing, and would be a positive move.

I've also bet against LSU and the Saints, and in favor of Alabama and Manchester United. I try and play the value, regardless of allegiances. I'd go bankrupt quick if I bet on LFC.

I was a bit butthurt so the idea was to illustrate that you are an anti American dork since you came in on your high horse to mock opinions and such.

But surely you can agree that saying "Lol... guess Miles should have checked with you" is a vintage sports message board fallacy.

I'm kidding, but I'd never be able to separate emotion from the bet... I also hate losing money more than I hate winning money... gambling is the one vice I never succumbed to...

Chances that he is trolling people and actually the conversation was when Moyes was at Everton?

I agree. In fact, I don't really hate winning money at all.
