youth system? Goddamnit I hate the Italians, but that guy is just lovely.
Do we have any promising young midfielders coming up? (Obviously a pirlo doesn't come around too often)

He's known as the Nordic Messi

I don't think that anyone has a Pirlo coming up.
I mean, Mix Diskerud (who is on this team) and Luis Gil are good possession midfielders. They would have been beaten up though against a team like Ghana.

Does anybody?
While we're at it, let's look for an early 2000s Thierry Henry.

I think my caveat explained I understood the probability of it, but I'm still wondering about our young midfielders. Are any of them talents?

I was somewhat serious. Ben Lederman. He's in Barcelona's academy, but he's extremely young.

Pirlo is a very rare player.
Although having a superstar on our team would help, I'm not in the company that thinks we NEED an incredible player to make deep runs in tournaments. Don't get me wrong, we would need a lot of great players which I guess is harder to do than having one incredible player. The teams with one superstar (Switzerland, Wales, and Portugal to a degree) really struggle. They also play in Europe which is the most difficult continent to succeed in so that probably plays a factor too.

Seriously, our closest players are Mix and Gil. I suppose Torres, but he isn't dangerous at all, and he is already in his "prime"

we probably do, but he is probably 8 years old and playing in a youth soccer league somewhere right now.
same goes for a Messi type striker

That's my bad. When you said "beniesta" my brain was thinking Spain's Andres Iniesta.
I feel like I've heard the lederman kids name before but haven't heard of beniesta. How young are these kids?

He will probably decide to play for Mexico even though he was born and educated here.

Ben Lederman + Iniesta = Beniesta.
I think he's like 12 or 13. Not sure.

I thought beniesta was amexican and lederman was germican, but instead they are one.

If were talking about Beniesta don't forget to mention Joshua Pyandath. He plays in Real's youth system and is about the same age and Ben.
