Reports leaking from The Goat Parade suggest that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office have received two trademark applications from “Chivas Guadalajara Licensing LLC” as Chivas look to rebrand their MLS franchise as either “Los Angeles F.C.” or “Los Angeles SC.”

According to public database records from the USPTO, Chivas USA applied for separate trademarks on January 17, 2014.

Personally, I prefer the shield to the left.

If they play in the same stadium as the Galaxy and this team isn't supposed to appeal to the Latino demographic, who the hell are they going to attract as fans?

Don't know.....but that strategy hasn't really panned out for them so far.

Well it's a start. Unless they sign a big name anytime soon they will still be in the shadow of the Galaxy.

That club needs a relocation to another city to go along with that rebrand.

A new owner wouldn't hurt either.

New owner and new city would be good. This club has had a real negative history with the poor seasons, poor attendance, and the racism. So if it moves where should we put it guys?

San Diego is my first option.

Still, LA is big enough I would think...sprawling forever with 15M? people in the area...that supporting two clubs is possible. I think most of Chivas USA problems come from the fact that this club was always viewed as a foreign club with an agenda (which it is).

I like the brand name Los Angeles FC but prefer the shield on the left.

i don't think they need to leave the LA metro area but they should definitely play in a different part of town. Put them out in Anaheim or something.
