clearly Eghbali is in charge
quote:
One of the key disagreements came over the position of now-departed manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine oversaw a strong finish after a troubled start to his sole season in charge, with Chelsea ending sixth in the Premier League to qualify for the Europa Conference League.
Boehly is believed to have backed Pochettino, now in charge of the US men's team.
However, Eghbali and the club's co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart were reported to have favoured a fresh approach and Enzo Maresca became the club's fourth permanent appointment as manager in less than two years.

what's this talk i see about chelsea looking at building a new stadium at nearby Earl's Court? that would be a big boy move.
expanding stamford bridge seems unrealistic give the small amount of land available on the site.

Anybody remember the Battersea Power Station renderings from like 10 years ago? They looked awesome
ETA: Found some of them...

I liked the battersea location right on the Thames but the design is dead food. Those chimneys looks like trash I’ll be real

Batter Sea would have been cool but it is south of the River, so it didnt make much sense to abandon Stamford Bridge for that location
that Batter Sea area is where the new US Embassy is and is a really nice, they converted the power plant into a big shopping mall
Boehly wants to rehab Stamford Bridge, Eghbali wants a new stadium

I agree. The fight to pull 3 points out instead of being content with 1 is what will separate them from last season.

Im reading some reports that there are major underground structural challenges to rebuilding on site. Maybe some smart guy architect can provide more insight.

Beautiful touch by Nkunku. That’s amazing play in tight quarters.

I was against the Sancho acquisition but he looked great against Bournemouth. He’s going to play a lot for this team.

he is a grownup (24yr/o) in his 8th season at the highest level, he adds some experience sorely needed with all of the youngsters in the front

Really impressive W. Never threatened. Young guys seems to be gelling. Tosin needs to be permanent. Love the skill on this team with Palmer, Felix and Neto. Jackson finding his form. Like it.

Dare I say even Sanchez seems to be settling in. Keep it rolling.

People shite on Jackson, but he didn’t even have shoes until 8 years ago. He is very young, and is still learning the game.
Caicedo looks great. He is doing a lot of the dirty work that goes unnoticed.
Palmer is superb.
On another note, I would love to see Chelsea sell Madueke.
He is Sterling part 2.
A gifted goal scorer that is incredibly frustrating to watch.
As for the back line, it would seem as though the squad has quality, and depth.
In goal, while I would prefer a top shelf keeper, Sanchez deserves credit for getting the job done.
All in all, a good day.
