Real clubs aren't throwing a parade for winning the Europa League. They are embarrassed by the fact they are even in it.

What about for surviving relegation?

In the 2024-25 Premier League season, Chelsea FC has the youngest squad, with an average starting age of 24 years and 36 days. This makes them the youngest Premier League team ever, surpassing the previous record holder, Leeds United.

Congrats Blues and Enzo. Great finish to the season. A few key additions and this team should contend for the PL. Now let’s win the world Club cup!

I am pleased with the result.

Gusto got his pocket picked on their first goal, then was shite in recovery leaving Chalobah on an island. To give credit, Isco played a dime ball for the assist. Isco was easily their man of the match. Chalobah also looked like an orange cone sitting back, which allowed for a strike from distance. Jorgensen made an excellent save on it that strike by them. Lastly, Gusto also almost game up goal number 2 a mere 20 minutes later, with some horrific defending. Reece James is definitely the better of the two in that position.

As for the second half, Palmer’s cross to Enzo on his goal was money. Did anyone notice how wide Madueke played? On that play, Palmer had acreage inside. CP in space is a nightmare. It was a good ball across that he put on Jackson’s head. Those two do a good job of feeding off of each other. On Sancho’s goal (also a beauty), CP’s dummy run inside drew two defenders gave Sancho all of the time he needed to finish. Sancho also started things on Caicedo’s goal. He tracked back, received the ball in the defensive third, then it went to Caicedo, to Enzo, and back to Caicedo for goal #4. For an unpopular signing, Sancho made an impact. Lastly, Enzo and Caicedo are proving to be worth the money.

Top 4

A trophy

All while doing so with the youngest team in EPL history.

I’ll take it and like it.

Will we keep Sancho? He is a hot and cold kind of player. Could we upgrade there? He could be useful playing top flight international competition next season as well as PL matches. Sounds like we’ll jettison Badashile and Disasi. Do we bring back Vega? What about Sanchez? He has the best goal defending percentage in the PL so either you sell him as his value is high or you keep him and make him beat out Djorge? And adding Willian and Santos to the first squad. Lots of decisions to make.

Yes, and we will.

He is slow. A speed merchant will eat him alive. However, against teams in his realm of athleticism, he can help.

Disasi, yes. Badiashile is a maybe. I say that we keep him, or…loan him to Strasbourg.

No

Maybe. For all of his gaffes, he played well down the stretch.

I still want an upgrade there.

Both are very talented.

However, I believe that Paez is going to be the best of the three youngsters.

That dude has tremendous upside.

Chelsea need to add a top flight striker. I think Jackson has amazing potential, but potential means that you haven’t done it.

They also need an elite CB (or two).

Lastly, keeper is still a question mark.

Otherwise, the core of the team is locked in.

Put it in the corner. Celebrate making history, but don’t make too much of it. Their “museum” is actually quite nice imho. It is a good addition. If for nothing else, it’s a damned fine looking trophy.

Haha, agreed.

As bullish as I have been on the youth movement’s potential, another trophy-less season would have sucked.

The Conference League worked out nicely this year. It allowed the youngsters to play (and shine), it showed that Nkuku still has value (in the right system), it allowed our front line unit to focus on making the top 4 (and Champions League play next year), and could equate to some summer sales that bring in some extra cash.

So I’ll take that nice looking trophy, even if it’s for a tournament that we have no business in being in going forward.

As for trolling…

Chelsea…THE Champions of Europe.

I am afraid if jackson stays and they bring in a proven striker then he doesnt fully develop, but if he goes somewhere else he could be one of those young guys that explodes into an elite level talent

there is a calmness on the ball that players only get from experience, jackson does not have it yet and he may never get it.

can the club afford to wait and see what happens with him? do they feel like he has the ability to become a world class finisher to go with his amazing athleticism?

KDB and Mo Salah probably dont develop like they did if thay stay at CFC under Jose, but there is a history of elite guys leaving and blossoming into POY level talent that is painful as a CFC fan

leaving can be the best thing (Salah) or the worst thing (Hazard) a player can do

quite the catch 22

Delap is a done deal. Do we go after one more striker or are we done? Guiu may be headed out on loan.

I’m not sure.

I rather like him. He is tough, makes good runs, and is a quality finisher.

Do I see him as the #1, no.

But he is quality imho.

Plus, he is a great insurance policy for when the African Cup of Nations is played.

To me, it’s a smart move.

Time is the key component in his case. Even Drogba had to learn from experience.

On another note, actual competition for playing time would be beneficial for his growth. His wages aren’t bad, and he and Palmer play well off of each other. I prefer that we keep him.

What a nice cap to the season. Now let's sign either Gyökeres or Osimhen.

I’m not sold on Gyökeres.

The drop off in that league is massive.

As for Osimhen, rumor is that he wants 400k in pounds per week.

That’s a big figure.

Chelsea has the money, the question is, do they pull the trigger?

I say yes.

Fair. Either would be an upgrade over Jackson. I would even be open to bringing in a guy like Ollie Watkins. Even a younger lad like Ekitike, although a riskier option, has an appealing upside.
