This.

I prefer Koulibaly over Rice as I don’t have any faith in the current batch of CB outside of Thiago. Hopefully he will set the tone and they will improve. Big based on prior play, they are VERY average.

Rice would be great too as he can give Kante a breather and is a good insurance policy for Lamps. I also would love to see him next to Thiago.

As for keeper, Oblak and Obama are 1-2.
If money is truly an issue, then I say we go for Emi Martinez at Arsenal. We could get him for 10-15 million, 20 max.

Yeah. Pretty crazy. Our spending seems even less crazy when you add in the Morata money and Pasalic money.

That graphic is amazing but it also means that Kai better not be a flop. 50% more expensive than Werner...

Looks like it’s gonna be Mendy. Once that is complete, is Marina done or is Rice the last piece?

Mendy looks like it will happen 23 million pounds).

Ethan Ampadu looks to be going on loan to Sheffield United (supposedly there is a photo of him in uniform on their pitch for the press announcement).

My take:

Rice is still a target, but so is Boubakary Soumare at Lille. In short, Ampadu may eventually replace Kante if he can fully develop playing for the blades. In the meantime, Soumare or Rice seem to be the best options to bring in to cover for Kante (rest / injury etc.). Given that Rice (option A) and Soumare (B) both can play CB and holding mid, I would guess that means Drinkwater and Jorginho are on there way out. Man this has been a crazy transfer period.

I’d like to see us add another winger for depth. It looked like we were going to sign Benrahma early. Supposedly someone offered congrats on social for his move to Chelsea. Haven’t heard anything else about him since though.

I was somewhat hoping we’d find a buyer for Kante now to maximize his price because if he has another injury-laden season his stock will drop. That said, I want to see him play along side Hakim, Kai, and Timo (and of course 22) this season.

Zy whatever took the 22. I think CP is getting the #10 shirt.

I’d like to see Chelsea shop Barkley. He’s a selfish player and once the ball goes in to him, a shot is coming whether warranted or not. He seems to be trying to prove he belongs and it’s detrimental to the team.

I’m no fan of him either.

Whenever I see Barkley he looks like he doesn’t have thoughts. He only exists on urges.

ETA: any news in Pulisic’s recovery? Is he back practicing with the squad yet?

Is our new Crystal Palace kit for Champions League only?

He was totally worth the risk when we bought him. Not much money. Had shown some serious promise. But he's just not been very good. He's a fringe squad player for a top 4 side. If he can help fund someone else, let him leave with Jorginho. I'd be cool rolling with a midfield of Gilmour, Kante, Kovacic, RLC & Mount with Havertz also able to occupy that most advanced spot.

Players we can hopefully get rid of: Jorginho, Barkley, Emerson, Drinkwater, Zappacosta, Baba, Moses, and Batshuayi.

I really hope we keep Alonso. It's nice to have him if we ever do want to play Back 3 or if we're chasing a game late. Great FKs. Scores huge/late goals.

As far as Pulisic, I believe they said Grade 2, which would put him around 6 weeks from the start of August. Then he has to get match fit. He was posting photos somewhere by the ocean this weekend, so I don't even think he's back to the team yet. I think it'll likely be October when we start to see him.

Barkley is fine for a mid to lower table team that needs a guy to stir it up and take shots

That is not Chelsea, he is denying opportunities for higher caliber players with his bombs away attitude

Frank seems dead-set on getting rid of “uniform-fillers” and those you mentioned fit that bill. Emerson, Zap, et al won’t bring in big dollars but Blues need to find useful parts if they’re going to catch Liverpool and City.
