Chris Wilder was really talking him up when the loan was finalized, so I'm hoping he can break into the team. His defense seems to be a little more set, but he rotates the players further forward a decent bit. I'm sure if Ampadu impresses, he'll get a chance.

I guess I'm in the minority but I think Ross is a good backup that we shouldn't just throw out

Ross is a solid bench guy perfect for dart FA cup stuff. I think he’s a pretty good player.

Chilwell and Thiago Silva were in full training with the whole team, it seems. Hopefully they're ready to go. Don't think Alonso is playable this game unless we switch to 3-5-2. Otherwise, feel like we have to go Dave/Reece as outside backs. But even Dave against Mane/Salah is terrifying. I think I'd go 3-5-2 if Chilwell isn't ready and Pulisic/Ziyech are out still.

Heard pulisic picked up yet another knock in training. Doubtful for Sunday. I think my delusion and optimism is starting to erode. He’s got some physicality issues.

Man I hope not. He’s obviously a fantastic player but becoming quite frustrating. Get the boy on the juice or something.

I’m not expecting a win on Sunday because we won’t have our full squad but I do expect to be more competitive. Of course Kepa in goal is scary and Salah Mane etc against our back line is nightmarish but we should have more offensive firepower (minus 10) in this one.

Klopp is so hard to like. Chelsea have pretty much only reinvested money they already had/made. This idea that Roman has just opened his personal account to spend 200-300 million euros is so absurd and not true.

Liverpool are paying 5 mil this year. It’s 35+(potentially) 5 over 4 years. That is incredibly shrewd business.

Although you’re not wrong about Klopp being a baby about spending

Ziyech, Pulisic, Chilwell and Silva all OUT for Liverpool game.

We’ll be great when everyone is available but when will that be? Silva was on vacation for a few weeks so he’s not fit? I know this is a marathon not a sprint and if Blues we’re playing a lesser side, I get it but this is Liverpool- can we not field a stronger side?

What do you want them to do? Play a bunch of guys who aren't recovered from injuries yet and a super old Thiago Silva who isn't fit and would be prone to an injury? It's unfortunate, but it's not like we really have a choice.

Honestly the way I look at it, we are lucky to have all of those guys out and still field a team as strong as this one.

It was always going to be a process even without a plethora of injuries on top. I’m not worried about the result this week, but we damn sure better have an improved showing from last week.

Seems to be a carryover from last year when key players could not stay fit. Is it the medical staff? Trainers? Just disappointing after the great window we’ve had.

Pulisic has never been able to stay healthy. That was an issue at Dortmund. Ziyech had an awkward kick out/fall in a friendly. We bought Chilwell injured. That was one of the things holding up his transfer. Not really like we did anything wrong.

I am sure the high pressing is more of a strain on our guys, but these injuries don't have a ton to do with that.

To be fair, given his hamstring injury I expected him to miss at least 2-3 weeks into this season. I believe he picked up another injury though which is concerning. Someone needs to get him a complete overhaul on how he’s strengthening
