They mitigated that really well in the first leg when Roma was winning the midfield battle in the first 20 minutes or so by bypassing the midfield completely. Madrid will probably try to get into the low block as quickly as possible to prevent that and slow the pace of the game. Madrid do a really good job of tactical fouling.

That high line played by Roma was what cost them this semi final

frick. Had meetings the entire 2nd half so missed the near comeback/collapse. Thought it was safe to unclench with a 4 goal halftime lead. I should know better by now.

I hope pundits think like you and say shite like this... It is always motivation for the team being spoken about, I know coaches here who have literally printed shite like this and put a copy in every player's locker

My worry as a neutral is that Madrid won't let it be an open game. One of the keys might be how quickly the ref decides to give the first yellow. If he lets Madrid slow the game down and doesn't give a yellow early, I'd wager the game becomes stilted as Madrid foul to ensure that they can remain in the low block and force Pool to play through them. Pool should conceivably employ the same strategy if Madrid get goalside from the press.

The pragmatic approach from Madrid would be to keep the game in the low block and let Ronaldo win it somehow.

I'd be cool with that. I really don't want Madrid to win three in a row.

What worries me is Zizou is going to straight up Mourinho us.

I’m ecstatic to be where we are, but good lord we limped our way in, literally and figuratively.

Long as we don’t give away some lucky arse goal to that shite was benzema, I’ll be alright.

I think real will flex its muscle in this final and win 4-1 or 4-2.

Cr7 with the brace

A midfield 3 of Henderson, Wijnaldum, and Milner (far from his prime) along with Loris Karius in goal and a back line including Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Dejan fricking Lovren are going to the Champions League Final

frick the haters

I'll take house money at this point, we are a year ahead of schedule with an ungodly amount of injuries coming down the stretch. Of course know that we will be playing with 5 upgraded starters next year than the starting XI you saw today and a lot of the players pulling this off will be quality depth next year. So call it house money or whatever you want as long as you know that one of the best managers in the world has set it up for big time success for years to come with massive upgrades to our training ground, youth development and to Anfield still happening. As a Liverpool supporter I haven't been this excited or confident in the future since I began watching them in 2004. And truly incompetent American owners are nowhere to be found.

It's the CL Final, if you need bulletin board material you're screwed already.

I think Klopp IS the best manager in the world, at least at the moment.

Still 6-2 Madrid on aggregate though.
