If I understood the guy correctly, even though Atletico Madrid was drawn first and thus should have the first home game, Chelsea will host the first game because Real Madrid and Atletico can't play in the same stadium on back to back nights?
nvm, they just changed it and said Atletico will be the home team for the first leg.

So, I'm seeing where UEFA has overruled that ridiculous clause Chelsea had for Courtois, and he can play without AM paying that fee?

He shouldn't be allowed to play imo. That's how all loan deals work that I've been aware of.

That's only an EPL rule...
IMO he's an Integral part of that team and one of the reasons they've come so far... I'm glad he can play!

I don't care if he plays or not but it's ridiculous for UEFA to try and say they can null a contract agreed upon by all parties.

Is it an EPL rule or is it a clause in the loan contract? It's BS that they can override a clause mutually agreed upon between parties like Randy said.

They can of it goes against their rules and regulations...

Just last year Celtic played IF Elfsborg where they had Mo Bangura loaned out. This was the response from UEFA just last year:

It's pretty clear that this is complete bullshite. Atletico got a great deal on one of the top keepers in the world and they knew this was a possibility when they took this deal.

I'm not sure of Chelsea's plans for Courtois after this season, but if I were them I'd tell em to frick off. He can rot on the bench before he goes to Atletico.

There does seem to always be a lot of drama around him. I'm pretty close to the point where I'd be happy to cash in on him.
