qualifying again becomes a little scary.
Yeah, but we would still be in a good position.
With a loss, the worst position we can be in is third and could possibly even stay in second, pending the Costa Rica/Honduras result. After this tough stretch, we close out WCQ's in October with a home game v. Jamaica and at Panama, both very winnable games.
We are going to qualify.
I want to win this game more because it will be like stabbing Mexico's WC chance right in the heart.

Grade 2 sprain is ligament damage. This will probably knock him out close to a month.

Yep partial tear. Kinda scary that they were anticipating a grade 3. He's no lock to make it back for October.

Ankle ligaments and knee ligaments are two totally different animals.

I know and its probably a borderline grade 2/3 sprain which is a partial tear and a month if you're being optimistic.

I think he will be on the field for at least one of the October games.

Grade 2 definitely isn't a great report. That's a partial tear of a ligament or tendon. I wouldn't expect to see him within 5-6 weeks, and even then he'll have to regain fitness.

It's a Roma curse. We've lost an important player for an extended time in this first international weekend for the past 4 seasons.

You're right, but if we lose to Mexico, we may be putting ourselves in a position where we need a result on the road in Panama to qualify for the World Cup.
