Between this and Bruce Arena making the rounds calling for Balogun to be suspended further for a “horror tackle,” there’s some serious fricking salt coming from our ex-managers.

Fan Duel knows what's up with that rage bait snippet.

Watch the whole video, Gregg (and Bruce and Bob) have been very complimentary of Poch and the team throughout this whole tournament.

For three former coaches, they have provided good insight and have not been jaded about "not being the guy" at all.

I don't like Gregg, but he's right. Our best player needs to have the ball a lot and he wasn't getting it enough.

Is this true? I haven't seen anything like that but if so, Bruce can pound sand up his monotone lethargic arse.

He's right. I was commenting to my friend at the bar that he was so dangerous early in the game, then didn't even touch the ball for what felt like 30 minutes.

It happened to Kane and Haaland in their games as well, but they just need 1-2 touches to change a game. CP needs to get the ball more to create for the team IMO

We’ll see what the plan is without Balogun. I tend to think that it’s more Pochettino being able to draw up a game plan and develop a tactical system that is more nuanced than “get Pulisic the ball wide and hope he does something.”

Think it’s telling that’s about the extent of Gregg’s tactical nous.

Unless I completely zoned out when he said it, I didn't hear that when I listened to the clip. He said he thought it was a red due to the potential for injury and hoped it's just a one game suspension. I don't recall him saying horror tackle or saying it should be more.

I was exaggerating as far as him calling for an extra suspension. But his tone was certainly “we better hope it’s not an extra suspension because that’s how bad a foul it was.” Similarly I thought he did say horror tackle, but if not that’s the general tone he was using when describing it.

Completely missing the point that it wasn’t a tackle. He stepped on the Bosnian players leg as he falling after being fouled by the Bosnian player

Copy that, I would be suprised if he said anything like that frankly.

I don't understand everyone agreeing with this.

As if that wasn't 100% BHs tactical plan of prevention and weighting their defense on both flanks. They tried to take both CP and SD out of the game and we rightfully took advantage of what that opened up. They were clearly trying to compensate being overly physical and sloppy with Bologun 1 on 1 and it bit them in the arse eventually.

BH made some adjustments with all the holes that were being left open in middle and the channels and at least CP started to see more of the ball.

Why forcefully play into exactly what the other team is trying to stop vs letting the team play through what is there, which it feels like Poch has trained them to do vs previous leadership where we'd just keep pounding the same tactical strategy no matter what the other team was giving us.

CP and Dest are great with the ball but they're just as valuable pulling defenders towards them and opening things up for what has turned into a very talented middle attack and middle channel attack that Bologun has obviously flourished with.
