Beckham's new club launches in March 2020, and Messi reportedly is available to leave the Spanish champions for nothing this summer, thanks to a contract that allows him to join a club outside of Europe for free at the end of each season.

Get real Beckham! Messi is only 32 years old still seeking Champions League redemption. He is not leaving Camp Nou for the publicity sake of InTeR mIaMi

Going from the camp nou to a half-empty Miami stadium would be something.

If shitty Wayne Rooney destroyed MLS, imagine what Messi would do.

Messi would score a hat trick every first half, and leave the stadium before the start of the second half. Job done.

ETA: also I feel like he’d go to Japan or China, don’t they pay the most money now for the retired stars?

I just don't view him as the player who would make that change after his career in Barca. Beckham, Ibra, Rooney...I view those guys as loving the spotlight and all the extra perks that come with the game.

Most of Barca's home matches are no where close to sold out

Can't wait for Messi to join Leeds on a free after Brexit goes through.

after watching the documentary on Leeds, I’d love to see someone of Messi’s caliber go there

Yea sure it’s growing and exciting but the quality is meh

Seeing guys like Ibra, Rooney, Vela etc come in and totally gash the league shows it’s still way behind the power curve. But it’s fun to watch to get your soccer fix during the summer

Every time I turn on a game the stadiums seem to be half empty. Is attendance an issue for most clubs?

I know they wanted Cavani and he is a much more realistic target, but I think even he may wait until 2022.

Rooney didn't/hasn't destroyed anything in the MLS. No trophies. No MVP. No nothing. Above average player that's it.

Miguel Almiron destroyed the MLS.
Josef Martinez destroyed the MLS.
Zaltan Ibrahimovic is destroying the MLS.

Wayne Rooney I don't think so.

Rooney in showed up in July his first year and finished 4th in mvp voting and finished in the best 11 after just half a season. What are you talking about ?

Rooney has turned DC from a joke into a playoff team, that is the definition of MVP.

Zlatan has no trophies in the MLS either
And probably won’t win MVP
