People didn't show up because people in Atlanta don't give a rats arse about hockey.

This thread has devolved into a pissing contest that I don't care about. Can we go back to discussing the new team

Agreed. So the new name is 100% set in stone? That kinda sucks. Seems like they have some time to re-think it, if they really wanted to.

Also, how does an expansion team go about acquiring new players and such. Seems like the talent pool in America is already lower than the European countries. Will this make it more diluted with new expansion teams over the next 5 years?

Also, to get back on topic. I have no idea what Atlanta Legion is, but even without knowing the origins, it is an way better name than Atlanta United.

I was hoping Atlanta Terminus. Atlanta Phoenix sounded dumb seeing as how Phoenix is another city and all.

'd say that over the last 5-10 years, the Falcons have been gaining in popularity while the 'skins, not so much. This also goes back to the success of the team and championships, how long a team has been around, etc.
Much less to do with fandom.

what in the hell

thats why the falcons pipe in crowd noise and have had to use the silent count at home

Yep. This Bammer is butthurt because people are calling out Atlanta for being the shitty sports town it is. They lost 2 hockey teams, the Hawks with the best record in the East averaged 17,000 fans, the Braves with all their history average less than 25,000, but let's continue with this notion that it's not that bad.

Expansion draft. They can take players from current teams.

Why they didn't go with Atletico Atlanta is beyond me.

Perfect opportunity to be ATL ATL.

If the losers who move to Atlanta would become hometown fans instead of holding on to whatever crap hole they came from, things might be different. Atlanta has tripled in size in the last 30 years.

I don´t know if I´d say his wealth is derived from the providing of customer service....

It is the basic tenet of Home Depot, so I would say it is a pretty true statement.

Anyway, what has been the Falcons season ticket sales progression over say, the last five years?

The NFL Local Market report had the Falcons doing well. Their numbers are sound. Obviously, it is no Green Bay or New England.

It's one of Walmart's core values too. I don't really know a lot about Home Depot tho.

The ATL team should be fine support-wise. Not Seattle, but fine.

Seriously, you Yankees seeking the better life down south are no better than the Mexicans who move to the US and wear their Mexico garbage to US matches.

I mean, if you couldn't find work here and the US economy collapsed and you moved to Germany to benefit from their economy all whilst bashing your host country, I'd say that's a tad uncouth.

If you dumped your girlfriend who was a 3 and were lucky enough to upgrade to a 9.5 why would you long for the 3?
