Vermaelen available Saturday. I doubt it happens, but I'd feel slightly better with Kos at RB instead of Djourou. Vermaelen probably isn't ready to play a full 90 though.

Montolivo rumored to favor Arsenal. Yes please.

We need Wilshere to get back, and we need to get a striker to back up Van Persie in January. We also need to sign VP to a long term contract and show him we are committed to winning. We are playing better, slowly, and we actually have some really exciting depth this year. If we don't lose anyone, we could have a really strong team in the second half of the year and next season. The problem is that we say this every year. Montolivo would be a start, but we need more.

I would take him...if we can't get Gourcuff or one of the youngsters.

I believe Darke said Saturday that he might be back by the end of January, but I may have misheard. That would be incredible.

Yes. I like Park, but we need another because Chamakh has lost all his confidence. Young Guns posted about some rumor that Chamakh might go back to France on loan in January. That might actually do him some good.

Wilshere, Sagna, Gibbs, and Diaby all will be back. Our August signings will continue to acclimate and improve. I'd expect 2 or 3 possible big signings in January. We could make some noise and maybe have an off chance of a cup victory if we progress that far.

Personally, and I probably wouldn't have said this last year, I'd rather have Montolivo than Gourcuff.

I haven't seen nearly as many Arsenal games as the rest of you have, I'm sure, but there were times earlier in the year when I thought Ramsey looked borderline terrible. Maybe that's a bit harsh but he wasn't impressive.

I thought he was the MOTM Saturday. Very impressive. My thought going into the season was that both he and Wilshere seemed more like deep lying playmakers than attacking midfielders (I still think that's Wilshere's best role) but Ramsey changed my mind a bit Saturday. Now I could easily see him in the more advanced role, with Wilshere playing the role he played last year alongside Song, and that seems like a quite good 3 man midfield.

That was a great game though. I'm almost becoming an Arsenal fan for some reason although Fulham are still my team.

Yeah he's struggled when playing a deeper role this season. He's always been better closer to the goal. He's just now regaining the confidence he had pre-injury. Hard to believe the kid is only 20. I'm surprised Wenger let him play as advanced as he did Saturday at Stamford Bridge. He's generally started Ramsey in a position further back on the pitch, but he was given a lot of freedom from the get go Saturday.

You weren't the only one.

Ramsey isn't really a DLP. We saw that earlier this year. He doesn't have the ability to create space for himself like Wilshere, Arteta, or even Denilson did. That was part of the problem. He's played a lot better since Arteta joined, and he's grown in confidence.

I really think this is only the beginning. He was so impressive when he first came over, and right before he got hurt, I thought he was going to claim a starting spot. If he keeps moving the ball quickly, improves his final ball, and gets to the place he was right before his injury, I think he will be a star.

I think Song's been one of our more consistent performers this season. He really does clean up well for our backline's foibles.

Yeah, I think he is an excellent DM. He has significant problems when he tries to play B2B, or when he tries to contribute significantly to the attack. His passing this year has improved, but he's still not up to the level we need in the final third. The ball to Santos was sublime, and hopefully an indication of what is to come.

No doubt. So glad Cameroon didn't qualify for ACN. Song has turned into a beast.

I was actually more impressed with the turn before the pass.

Results are what matter. We have 8 wins in the last 9 matches with the only loss being to Tottenham at WHL. And that was the only goal that Sczez could be called out for.

No Sagna, Wilshere or TV5. We have a solid chance for top a top 4 finish. And winnning our CL group and possibly getting to the Quarters. I'll take it.

Would be cool to win our group and not be drawn against Barca from the get go.

Indeed. And the further we progress in the knockout rounds, the further we get! Would help us in the player signing dept.

Poaching players from other CL teams that don't make it out of group and are struggling a bit domestically is a sound strategy.

Can you think of a few.....?

Song has always had an impressive shimmy. He has the amazing ability to dribble out of the tightest areas. His passing ability in the final third has always been hit or miss (mostly miss), save a few balls, like that one to Eduardo in 08.
