I feel like we've still got a long way to go to plumb the depths of depression. I haven't been empty like the Newcastle or Carling Cup final in a long while as an Arsenal fan.

Since we're lurking subterranean for season expectations I think we're pretty chastened as to the (lack of) heights we can fall from.

I think we should just bunker it in vs. Udinese. Play without a striker or something.

I'm pretty optimistic about getting a few good players. There is some serious heat on Wenger right now, more than he's ever experienced in his entire career.

We played hard, the talent gap was just too much to overcome when we only had 10. No confidence in Udinese this week. We're not too depression state yet, but its getting close.

Vermaelen played fricking awesome.

Honeslty if Djourou and Kos come back fully healthy, I'm not in strong want of a 20 million pound CB. But since we don't know how long they will be out, we might throw out a substantial chunk of change to cover the losses.

He's shipping out players this year more than others. Eboue, Clichy, Fabregas, and with Bendnter and Nasri likely. Squillaci is supposedly not in the plans either, according to Twitter.

We would have won something if he was there last year. Such a tremendous player. Controlled Carrol fairly easily.

10 days is quite a lot of time, actually.

Where else, the youth academy and cheap prospects bought for mere pennies.

If the reports about Squillaci are true, either we are trusting Miquel as our fourth CB, or we are buying someone. For some reason Miquel seems more likely. He does look a good prospect though, but I wish we'd get someone with more experience.

based off YG's evaluation maybe he can't yet handle the physicality of EPL strikers. I didn't see him in the second half but he looked assured from the glances I saw in the first half.

He's a big boy though, and he has really great technique for a CB. He had one cross-field ball to Theo that was superb. He can get stronger, but the height and technique will always mostly be there.

It just hit me this morning that Wenger (and/or the front office) is managing the team like I would on the manager mode of the FIFA games - sell the big stars, buy up a bunch of young players, and improve my stadium/coaching staff. I now feel sorry for my fake fans.

moral victories, sometimes you need 'em:

So let me get this straight, Liverpool need a red card, an injury, 3 19 year old debutants a favourable offside decision and a crushingly unfortunate own goal to beat a side already missing 3 first choice players and who they've outspent by 100 million pounds?

I wonder if Coquelin will be in contention for the DM spot against ManU. I did come away impressed with Frimpong. I feel like he's at the same stage Wilshere was a couple years back when he went to Bolton. I think he'll start seriously challenging Song for PT next year.

Jenkinson did alright today, but the FB/winger interplay was disjointed. Jenkinson did scare me with his stumbling around.

That would go a long way in reassuring me of our season prospects.

He could have a Suarez type impact for Arsenal.

Let's hope. After today's showing there is no way Nasri sticks around.
