10 won, 6 lost. Had a couple of tackles I thought were clear fouls on Walcott and Nasri. He played well though overall. Less out of control than our DM.

Double figures in tackles during the Liverpool - Arsenal game.

He also got turned twice by Nasri that led to shooting opportunities if I recall correctly. He was also goalside on his yellow card.

He also lost 6 tackles in that game. It shows a high-work rate, but a certain aggressiveness that may or may not be rewarded. Again, tackles don't say anything about positioning. His 62% ratio is impressive, as I admitted.

Last year against a more impressive Arsenal midfield, he won only 38% of his tackles. I don't think he's an elite DM, but he's an excellent ball-winner. Again, being an elite DM for me is as much about positioning as it is about ball-winning. With the way referees call the game currently, the latter might be more important.

He also made the pass to Raul that led to the second goal.

Really interesting article about this summer. We have to start offering players more money. In lieu of this, I expect RVP to be sold next summer, as at his age, a large contract just isn't worth it for the club. We have enough money to buy players, but the more money we offer in transfer fees, the less we have to offer in terms of salary.

I thought our wage bill was always fairly close to the other big clubs. Has that changed drastically in the last year or two? I know Man City is blowing everyone out of the water, but I always thought we were fairly close to ManU, Liverpool, and Chelsea. I just want to know who the frick we're paying right now. We've sold 2 of our top earners. I'd guess Gervinho is making what Nasri made, but no one has taken Cesc's free money. We've sold or loaned out pretty much all of our squad players and replaced them with youngsters which I'd assume is saving us quite a bit of cash. I just don't see how wages should be a hindrance to us signing 2-4 quality players. If it is though, than things likely aren't changing until we can get new endorsement deals in the next few years.

Why has Diego Lugano not been a target for CB. The guy is experienced and a fierce competitor.

BBC reporting that Wilshere is out against Udinese and that Nasri is traveling to Italy with the team. The plot thickens.

Jesus Christ. I say frick it. We need Nasri's experience and ability. If he plays tomorrow he will be here all season.

The saga is over. Hey Arsene, time to spend some fricking money. We don't need any bargains, we need a splash in the market.

His agent says he is leaving. Juventus is mentioned, but other clubs in Europe want him. The future is to be decided in hours. It would be a classic Wenger move to buy a player we haven't been linked to. Pretty please. He is better than any other CB that has been mentioned.

For as crappy a deal we sold Cesc for, it probably even out with this Nasri deal. Considering some of the top talents that have gone for pennies because of their contracts running out (ex. Ozil), we got a hell of a deal for Samir.

It's because he's 30, and Wenger will only buy 30 year old players if they are shitty.

Seriously he has atleast two more good years and is better than any other CB available.

I'm not sure, but we're definitely in the second tier in terms of wages. Also we pay our squad players more, hence the reason we have a hard time getting rid of Bendnter and Almunia.

The issue isn't our current wages, its that Wenger wants to raise wages to keep his star players, which the board doesn't want to allow.

@thegoonblog
News via @goonertalk that Arsenal target Mauro Zarate has pulled out of their Europa League game. Rumours of talks yesterday #afc #lazio

edit: but I'm not buying it, because I believe he has some retarded buyout clause, upwards of 50 million
