How would you rank Arsenal's needs as it stands right now given the following choices:
Second Striker
Center Attacking Midfielder
Center Back
(and they are all quality/proven players)

I'd go:
1. CB
2. LB
3. Second Striker
4. CAM
Not having a quality backup for Gibbs and RvP based on their injury pasts is border-line insanity in my opinion, but we need a top CB and have for a long time. The fact that Vermaelen is our top backup LB at this point and our top CB makes it even more important to get a CB.
Rambo, Arshavin, and Wilshere can all do the job at CAM. I dislike Rosicky there. He slows down our play too much. Here's to hoping his PT decreases when Wilshere returns.
Chamakh has completely lost it. A shame too because I was a big fan of him when we signed him and he exceeded expectations the first half of last season. Joel Campbell is one for the future. I wouldn't look for him to get much PT. Afobe neither. Maybe Walcott gets a shot down the middle at some point? Don't forget that Arshavin played lone striker for us in the past due to injury and did fairly admirable job, though that isn't the optimal situation by any means.
I feel our top XI is still one that can play with anyone, but our depth is pathetic compared to the other contenders, and it is a long season. I don't think we can afford to play as strong sides as we did last year in the Carling Cup. I'd imagine we'll revert back to all youngsters. Could be an opportunity for guys like AOC, Miyachi, Afobe, Aneke, Lansbury, et al to break out.

Post-game interview next to Ramsey with Wenger sitting just off camera he mentioned that he hoped to start playing up top while he and Ramsey stared directly at Wengerr, lol.
The commentators all agreed he would be a great fit up front.
And, we do have capable wing players, not true wingers, but attacking players who can play on the wing.

In terms of quality, I think Koscielny and Verm are playing very well together. We need another CB but thats not where the most of our money needs to go IMO. Same with LB, need a good player, not a 20mil player though.
If arsene were to spend most of it on a CB or Lb i wouldnt be mad though, hes spending...
But I do think the importance is now on attacking for the big spends. Need someone that defenses are afraid of. Hell, Aguero is already scaring me.

Hazard. Not going to happen, but I can dream.

Don't judge our CBs by these first two matches. We haven't exactly been playing killer attacks, and the best attacker we've faced, Di Natale, is the kind of guy that Kos and Vermaelen are best against. Also, I'm not sure what you're saying about a 20mil LB. Those don't exist unless you're Real Madrid. We could certainly improve at that position for 7 or 8 million pounds. If Gibbs really is as good as Wenger thinks, he'll keep the position. But if he isn't, or he gets hurt, we're in trouble.
I disagree. We've got players defenses are afraid of, and while our depth here isn't good, its better than our CB/LB situation. That said, I think we need to buy in all those areas. I doubt Wenger will. Wish we had moved quicker. Might have been able to get Mata. Delaying these transfer sagas this long has not helped our squad.

Pretty much. Losing Eboue means we won't have that valuable utility player. We need to buy someone else or we might be stuck with Jenkinson on the left. We also need a striker, a midfielder, and a CB. Maybe Afobe can grow into that striker we need, and Lansbury grows into that utility midfielder we need, but we need a CB, and I just don't understand why Wenger refuses to buy. We stand to lose a lot more money this year if we don't get some depth.

Kos and Vermaelen will excel against any team that plays the game along the ground. It's usually teams with aerial attacks, or tall players, like Man City and Liverpool, that we struggle defensively against. We've won a lot of the second ball so far, and we need to keep that up if we are to have any success on D this year.

I'll be interested to see if Lansbury at least makes the bench Saturday. Hell, he might even get a start. Ramsey and Rosicky starting 3 games in a week's time doesn't seem like a wise idea, but likely at least one will have to start. I hope Wilshere miraculously gets fit for Saturday. I don't have much hope without him.

I'm inspired as to what to do with my Nasri kit:

It's amazing how little ability we have to beat the press without Wilshere. These few games without him highlight how much we need him to pull the strings from deep. Ramsey isn't a DLP, and actually excels the closer to goal he gets. His ball for Walcott was so nice.
Rosicky is a passenger at this point. Last year at this time he moved the ball fairly quickly. I think his physical skills have deteriorated to such an extent that he has no confidence in his technical ability.
We are going to be so young on Saturday. Frimpong, Lansbury and Ramsey all likely to play.

$26mm pounds for Hazard?
Think Wenger will make this happen?

I never watch Ligue 1, so I'm not too aware of the players in it. Would this Hazard fellow take Arsenal from depressing to tolerable?
Posted on 8/17/11 at 4:08 pm to DestrehanTiger
Hazard primarily plays as either an attacking midfielder or a winger and has been credited as being "possibly the outstanding talent in Europe right now".
Two of Hazard's most common exemplary traits is his pace and technical ability, which has been described as both "astonishing" and "mesmerizing", respectively
